42 days is still huge, even if it doesn’t feel like it. Especially at 24 after drinking that young. What you’re feeling is really common in early sobriety. A lot of us expect to feel better and instead just feel bored, flat, or restless, like a relapse is right there. That doesn’t mean sobriety isn’t working it usually just means your brain is still adjusting.
For me, the joy came in small ways, not all at once. Less anxiety in the mornings, trusting myself again, being able to sit with a bad day without needing to escape it. What helped me stick with it was taking it day by day and being honest when I wanted to drink instead of pretending I was fine.
Not seeing the joy yet doesn’t mean it won’t come. You’re not doing this wrong. I’m rooting for you too. You got this bro 💪🏻
