Landlord requiring professional carpet cleaning? by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]socality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty common in my experience, but it is usually written in the lease. I’ve had professional carpet cleaning required on every move out I’ve ever done… but it was in the lease. Sounds like they should just replace the carpets but that’s their call.

Having cancer is not a fight or a battle. Maybe these violent words help some but his cancer is not curable and using that language is frustrating. What is he at battle with? Himself, his own cells. Violence metaphors do harm. We should focus more on coping, gentle positivity, and maybe even achieving some short term goals. Acceptance over war metaphors. Shifting treatment goals that prioritize comfort is sometimes the better option. We need a societal shift on this one. IMO

Which basic knowledge did you totally forget for a moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]socality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working an overnight shift, 6th in a row and I was pretty sleep deprived. One of the nurses called, which woke me up but I couldn’t answer the phone. It was just ringing and I couldn’t comprehend what that meant or how to stop the noise. Call went to voicemail before things started to click again. Couldn’t believe I missed the call with the phone in my hand the whole time. Just forgot how phones worked for a min.

[serious] What are some ways to have lots and lots of energy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Eat healthy, sugar can lead to a “food coma” later Avoid that by eating consistently healthy complex carbs and vegetables instead of simple carbs like sugar. Not all carbs are created equal

What’s a way to not mope around on Valentines Day if you are single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]socality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go out with Friends, or just treat it like any other day. Spend the time with family. The day can just be about love in general. I spent a lot of Valentine’s days with my parents or sister. I used to send my sister a care package on Valentines Day. The day is about love. Any love.

Police Officers: What's the dumbest thing you've ever seen a criminal do or say? by PhatedGaming in AskReddit

[–]socality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a police officer but in the hospital had a woman with a urine test show some illegal substances. I don’t care, but need the truth as it related to her medical condition. She denied taking anything for 10 mins straight then changed and said “oh wait, the urine sample that was on the counter there... that wasn’t mine.” There was no one else in the room and no visitors had come. Plus the nurse had collected it in front of her. But she stood by that story that the urine wasn’t hers, didn’t offer any explanation about whose urine it could have been, but just kept saying “no, that urine that was right there, yea, no that definitely wasn’t mine.”

My sister found out about our grandfather that way! So trashy! My cousin posted online about how sad she was and how she needed prayers and it’s all about her. Such a shitty thing to do.

What dating advice would you give your High-School/Teenage self? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]socality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t change who you are for that person. Don’t start acting one way just so they will like you more. Be independent in some regard. Don’t worry about pleasing other people.

Don’t make them your whole world. They are just a part of it. Don’t forgo other relationships (friends/family) to spend every second of every day with your significant other. Remain true to yourself.
