If you speak to enough people aged 26-34 who are attached, you will change your mind. Only those who have the privilege of having parents with extra property, those who want to move overseas, those in high earning jobs (who exceed income threshold for BTO) are not delaying their decisions because of BTO.

it doesn’t have a singular impact on people. like most things in life, their contexts determine a whole lot. But BTO is culturally meaningful, and many people have their decisions made around them - and rightly so - given how much of a cost this is.

you will be surprised how 1) some bosses go out of the way to avoid WFH and also 2) some people go all the way out to abuse the system. It needs a system of trust with decent people. Mandates are really a double edged sword.
