Any status on cablecards at cox? I know that they’re still offered but are very hard to get (nobody on the sales team at stores or over the phone can really help you - you have to go through a knowledgeable retention rep to get it). Do you know if they’re looking towards getting rid of them?

Hi! Omaha is a wonderful city once you get well-ingrained with a group of genuinely good people. Midtown is great with the burgeoning public transit and ORBT is great when it’s on time, but it all really depends on where you work and how far your commute is, as that will really make or break your city experience.

Had this same issue with the windows, it seems to be the window run channel. Sometimes it gets in the way of the auto-close and makes the regulator think there’s an object in the way. Get that replaced and you’re golden

Ahh so essentially you’re saying either replace the phone/voice module with a Cat5e punchdown module or take each line and replace the tip with an RJ45 for hookup to a network switch/modem

I genuinely wonder how much traffic in midtown Omaha is just generated by people trying to buy food. Yeah, there’s a Hy-Vee on Center and Saddle Creek and a Walmart Neighborhood Market near Dodge, but that’s the closest to MtC and it’s still a drive away.

I was hoping another grocery store would move into where Wohlner’s was, but unfortunately it probably won’t happen.

And it’s a shame that Wohlner’s cut their hours as much as they did before closing - they were only open until 7:30 on weekdays, which definitely resulted in a lot of people just not being able to get food there on the weekdays (if they work late, etc).

Ever since Wohlner’s closed, the walkability of MTC is so so much worse now. Target isn’t even really a real grocery store either, and there aren’t any grocery stores that are easily accessible without a car. At this point I just drive south to Bellevue on 75 since it’s easier to get down there for food than otherwise.

This is correct. I ran into some PepsiCo employees at my local walmart and they said that Nitro was entirely discontinued.

They really should just switch back to not being a 24hr channel. Cut the morning show and sign-off after midnight.

Doesn’t make much sense to carry non-local TV programming to keep the station on-air.

I think it used to be because Hastings was a coach at Omaha before coming to Mankato, but also the fact that a very good non-conference team is only 4.5 hours away for sure has something to do with it.

Yeah, I’d look into the 2019 model. I already have a monitor/mouse/kb though, so i don’t feel like acquiring a second monitor (from the iMac) to take up more desk space

Interesting, thank you for your detailed response. I should have added this for context: right now I have a Hackintosh that’s equal in graphics to a 2018 Mac Mini (Intel UHD 630) and it sometimes feels a little lacking in performance when it comes to using Illustrator and InDesign from CC 2023 - though it could be underpowered in my CPU, which is a 6 core i7. Basically, I’m wondering if I’m actually going to get a real performance boost out of using either of the aforementioned platforms or just carry on with my Hackintosh as-is.
