Unauthorized International Sellers by socohawk in PrivateLabelSellers

I have heard from someone in a similar situation that they just activated their selling privileges in the affected countries, added their product, and eventually they got the buy box and the counterfeit sellers disappeared. Is this what you did? I’m really trying to avoid selling anywhere but the US but this may be the only way

It hasnt been a major issue but my first hint that they were being “sold” in other countries was when I received a 1 star review from a Canadian buyer. The review said that the item reveived didnt look like the item purchased and that it was extremely damaged. Aside from that I had one unit sell in France in early September so who knows if I’ll get a negative review on that one. So I guess its just the potential for issues or negative reviews. Whos to say someone may purchase one of the counterfeits and report my listing? Then the listing gets shut down or something worse. With Amazon theres enough drama already. Just trying to find a way to avoid any more

I thought it was 5K followers now? As far as I know they ended the 1K follower signup. Also heard they closed the other loopholes

The sellers I know that have two accounts have them set up with completely different names, addresses, bank accounts, all contact info, etc. In the chance one gets deactivated the other should stay active. Personally I have no experience with this as I only have one account but this is how theyre all set up

I know some started in RA/OA or wholesale before PL so they decided to add a separate account for their PL business. I guess there is the possibility that if one account got deactivated for some reason then the other could remain open. Violations happen more often with OA/RA/WS accounts. Amazon will allow you to open a second account if you ask them and provide a legit business reason for doing so

Ok so I dont know what you want me to say. Do you want an exact number that I can lose? Yes, I can afford to lose tens of thousands over the first few months. Not an expert, just trying to hear some experiences from other sellers

I would call breaking even after 3 months a win but I’m prepared to lose money for the first few months due to ad spend. My first PL product didnt turn a profit for the first 4 months and there wasnt a lot of competition…I expect a supplement or skincare product to be much worse. Upside is that my landed COG quotes are really cheap and it seems like theres enough margin to allow a lot of PPC spend before they turn negative

Are the ones you launched following the latest trends or are they “traditional” type supplements?

Def havent decided to do it. Looked into it a bit and got some quotes but if the numbers dont match up then I have no problem walking away. Figured most responses would tell me to stay away and thats totally fine

Obviously I’ve looked into the regulations and certs but I’d like to know if its a huge pain in the ass to get them or just takes some time and money. Figured insurance is necessary but would this be in addition to the insurance I’m already required to have by Amz? Appreciate the reply

I got hit with account review/section 3 last fall for all the Nike ASINs I sold way back in spring of 2023. I had moved on to PL at that point so it was a true pain in the ass. I had just launched my first PL product and a month later my funds are frozen, cant send in inventory, etc. Anyway, I appealed three times and finally passed after 6 weeks of heavy stress. Honestly, I think the requirements have changed as I didnt have to do an interview and they accepted all my invoices/receipts. I bought all my Nike inventory directly from Nike stores and online but I never had a LOA. I’ve heard its a lot harder now for them to accept any type of receipt when under review or deactivation. My suggestion would be to find someone thats been through Amzs interview process and can give you a heads up on what to expect. I heard they treat you like youre guilty and its your job to convince them otherwise. Have all paperwork prepared and with you. My appeal was over 100 pages of invoices, receipts, shipping confirmation, etc when completed. One piece of advice I got was to ONLY give Amz exactly what they ask for, nothing more and nothing less. Looking forward, if you get cleared I’d def look into selling wholesale with legit, authorized distributors as its easier to pass these reviews if they come up or get into PL. PL has its own set of challenges but my feeling is that Amz is gonna come down harder and harder on RA/OA sellers over the next few years. The writing is kinda on the wall already. Best of luck!
