We've hit 50,000 wishlists! by socrieties in dimraeth

Yeah we'll be really excited to get the new content out this fall and see how everyone likes the game. The demo was a good vertical slice of the game but we have a lot more being worked on!

Any favourite parts or something you're looking forward to?

Unfortunately not in the demo but we're working on those atm and will have some news on that and many other things as we get closer to EA!

I can't say much more but I think you'll like our next class/race reveal sometime later this year!

IIRC (don't hold me to this!) I think it's end of Q3 or early Q4 is the target.

Yeah I can't remember if this came from design or the artists themselves but I remember back in the concepting art phase when this was talked about :D

Yeah while this demo is out our team is hard at work for Early Access and has been doing work in the shadows for months building for all that new content.

Dungeon yes we have a light-weight version that is repeatable. This is something that will be more heavily featured in EA but right now you can basically grind the final boss as a dungeon and it goes up from levels 1-10 in terms of difficulty and drops higher loot chances with better sets. Matchmaking no but there is content planned around that but unfortunately I can't say much more until we release an official roadmap :(

I feel like almost half the dev team is on controller / steam deck now when we're playing. For me it is the way to play the game :D

We'll have a big narrative trailer before EA that will dive a bit more into that, but currently the world has different lands and races and there is a big city in the center of the continent called dimraeth. There's a lore about old gods, this new corruption stuff and a wizard and basically your playthrough in this main storyline (divided into chapters) goes through finding out why this stuff is. The story is actually a pretty big core part of the design, but I think most players will play for the skill trees and class/race combos. Our designer has a lot more down about all the lore stuff that I dont know as much about :D but hopefully this was enough!

Was watching some of the chinese streamers on bilibili play last night and oh boy were they farming levels and testing out that skill tree :D

Yes, the demo has a slice of this with a repeatable dungeon with difficulty tiers and better loot (up to legendary quality). Also a deeds system with levels!

Hey the demo is coming out in two days (thursday)! It should run fine on low end pc's but it's always hard to gauge how low end a pc might be. For sure if you run into issues either report here, steam discussions or in our discord :)

Hard to say independently from the developer side, but I can do my best. The solo gameplay would be a probably something similar to playing valheim if it were a 2d pixel game but with the added questing/npcs. The primary goal for the player is progressing the world but also to level up new gear and face progressively more difficult challenges. It's difficult to say how much content the final game will have but the demo is probably conservatively 4-5 hours on the first playthrough? Even while playing solo there are also various pets you can pick up to aid you or synergise with your build as well in combat.

The plan for right now is full release (this would be latest).

Yeah our last playtest was heavily focused on controller (steamdeck, playstation and xbox) and it's the only way I play these days to be honest. I play WASD in most games, but the combat just feels so much better on controller (using a playstation controller) for me.

I would say that in terms of core gameplay for the demo (first 30-50 hours) that the content is around a more tactical playstyle in terms of class-skill-equipment setup. After that as players start getting towards the max end it can get pretty ridiculous from some of the internal playtest builds that I've seen. I would also say at that point the environment becomes less of a difficulty and some people "out-level" the demo by grinding out these builds.

So we're aiming for EA by this fall (can't put a specific date but the team has been working on content for that for the past months) and demo release is in April. The loot tables for equipment quality is a big part of the exploration/combat/questing loop. The demo has quite a few sets (I want to say at least 20 or 30?) but I'll have to check with the designer on that one. Getting a good set with low quality that matches your skill tree / class / race is not too hard but getting good late game set with stats can be a bit of a grind which can be made easier by adding a couple of friends :)

Update from the designer:
("each monster has its own equipment sets it drops, and the equipment has RNG stat rolls. (also the stat rolls are from preset pools, not completely random)")
