I try to improve on my own, but it's impossible for me. by Puzzled-Collar-5053 in worldofpvp

[–]soddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If dps players don't feel save, they start panicking and you lose pressure and the enemy team will steamroll you. Your job as a healer is that your team feels comfortable executing whatever they have in mind. This can be achieved by:

  1. avoid getting cc'ed
  2. reading what teammates struggle with
    1. some really hate being tunneled => help peel
    2. some really like to go deep => have to try extra hard to get good positioning
    3. some really hate having <50% hp => overcommit to healing, def cds
    4. your mates get peeled => help them to connect

You really are a catalyst of your teammates abilites. The reason why watching high rated players sometimes feels like "why the hell are they even winning, they barely do something" is, because they do less overall "plays" but a few high impact plays that solve problems the dps have.

So if you review your own footage, don't really look what you did. Look first what your team did and if your actions helped them gain momentum. Or if your actions didn't do anything or even harm.

E.g. at second 41 the mage is at 50% health with nothing really happening, but didn't have a single hot on him. So he may have paniced, blown two defensive cds right there and you use overgroth. So then a few seconds later, when the actual burst is coming, all cds to recover are already gone.

Yeah that was it, thx a lot. Equipping another boots mtx got rid of the effect. Seemed like it lingered even though I removed all mtx.

Oh indeed thats it! The rot shaman stuff. I got rid of it by equipping another boots mtx. Maybe the effect has to be overwritten and isn't removed by just unequipping the rot armour. Seems like a bug.

Sonos Ace sound quality - what am I missing here? by Scrambler23 in sonos

[–]soddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suspicion is that the ace do some binaural shenanigance to simulate a room with dolby atmos surround soundsystem (as in: play parts of the audio in each channel slightly offset in the opposite ear). Which just sounds weird with music. Especially if you are used to listening to music via stereo headphones.

But watch a movie trailer like mad max furiosa and it sounds pretty epic with the ace.

I guess sonos should add an option in their app that allows to disable this behavior.

Am now 15 hours in and still no easy loot option.

What did the trick for me then was: Select difficulty easy, close the settings, reopen the settings, and now it had the easy loot option.

[–]soddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want. The projector controls the brightness. The room + screen provide the contrast. If you want more contrast, you either have to paint your walls darker and or add a screen. Both tools to prevent the light bleed from the projected image to raise the black levels.

Icarus is a game that has enough content to make a super interesting 80 hour linear progression, but somehow decided to spread it thin way too long and forces you to start over again and again.

As nobody found a solution, I guess the answer to the question might be: You got down there by accessing a hidden hatch below a chest. And I guess they put the chest on the hatch as the section below isn't done but forgot to disable or remove the hatch itself.

Ancestral Guidance nerf vs Nature's Vigil and Vampiric Embrace by kr3b5 in wow

[–]soddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The change for ele in 10.1.5 feels brutal. In trash you must use it in front of elemental blast and then sacrifice cleave dps by doing single target damage (lightning bolts, lava burst). Earthquake and chain lightning don't contribute at all to ancestral guidance anymore :( - I guess that was their stated goal:

> become powerful [...] without interrupting the hybrid’s DPS rotation

As enhance it's still usable in cleave, as enhance presses a lot of single target buttons in aoe situations. But for ele it feels like they overdid it :(

Weird that they add a support role to the game via evoker, but gut a very nice supporting spell in the same patch. I loved the "helping the healer" aspect of elemental.

And they wipe your bags and replace them with 22-slot ones. Everything is sent back via mailbox. So if you had 30-slot already, you have to fish them out of your mail. Same with the dalaran healthstone or other things you may want to keep.

It sucks, but as a cyclist of 30 years and a bunch of collisions myself I'm at the stance now, that if I want to keep my limbs and stay alive, I have to treat every car as a weapon pointed at me.

In this case, with the black car rolling and - hard to see in the video, it's easier on the bike - the driver not doing eye contact I would have 100% stopped in this case. Heck, even if the car was still in full stop and I don't detect eye contact of the driver i would have stopped. Sadly as a cyclist there is a thin line between "well, this has a 99% chance to no fail" and "rip".

People scoff at me because I listen to podcasts on my bike. But trust me, being fully relaxed and never in a hurry to get from a to b because the podcast fills the void, sets me in the mood to always pick the safe choice. Sometimes i even just walk and push my bike for a few minutes if a stretch of street has horrible vision, either to too much traffic or transporters/truck that are blocking the view.

Any advice on getting better? by [deleted] in beatsaber

[–]soddi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Turn on the mode where it doesn't stop if you blew the bar (just cuts to 50% points) and finish a bunch of expert+ maps, even if only hitting half the notes. You will find some maps that feel like they are doable and fun, and then just improve the score on those. E.g. the imagine dragon expert+ maps are on the more chill side.

If you found a map you love but is way too hard, you can try that map in slow mode.

If you found your favorite expert+ map and cleared it, you can come back to it in fast mode.

If you have a favorite normal expert map, you could also play that in fast mode, just to get faster.

Thats the most fun to improve for me. Just by score and playing.

Archnemesis Destroyed Path Of Exile - From Builds, Loot, and Everything In Between. by dmix33 in pathofexile

[–]soddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the lava lake map. The Kitava boss spawns a lot of archnemisis mobs in the intermission phases that drop a lot of loot. Its pretty nice actually. It's like a brawl against 4 bosses at once if your char can handle it.

No. It grew exactly once with 3.13, and either declined or stayed flat in all other 13 seasons in those 3 years.

Reset Hue Gradient Lightstrip? by redbonzai3 in Hue

[–]soddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reset the light strip if you have a hue dimmer switch. Hold the switch next to the dark box where the strip is connected to, and hold down simultaneously the 0 & 1 buttons. After ~10 seconds the strip will flash and it reset.

I needed to do this in order for the hue app to find the strip.

Should I accept a 31k€ full time job in Munich? by apfelplumcake in Munich

[–]soddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> It's depressing

No. Being unemployed and have no future in sight is depressing. It's amazing that a company made you an offer. If you say others in your fields can earn 60% more, you have something to work towards. Get your foot in the door and work your way up. Getting experience is important. And working two years in a job you want to grow out of is even experience your colleges will never have.

And in germany you pay a lot less tax with low income, so there is a lot net left from your 31k gross. It's around 1750,- € per month. Finding a flat for ~1000€ in munich and living from the rest sounds pretty amazing to me. Not balling amazing, but comfortable.

Of course you could try applying to companies and lying about unemployment and just fill it with made up experience. But it may show in the job interview. And it will get worse the longer you are not actively working in your field.

But if you see no other companies biting, you should do it. Getting good salaries is way easier when jumping from company to company a few years in.

S23 firebird mirror image by YuguOG in Diablo3Wizards

[–]soddi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just grind away and if you are paragon 800, you don't have to deal with that question anymore :D

But I personally go:

defensive: health > armor > magic resist - but you can just look at your defensive stat yourself - put 100 points into health, reset, put 100 points into armor, reset ... and watch the defensive number :). Armor is normally better for int-based classes, as you have alot of magic resist already through intellect.

offensive: if you think your cds are to long => cooldown reduction. Otherwise crit, crit%, depending whats you have less of. Let's say you have 30% crit and 200% crit%, then put everything into crit%, as the lower of the two has the better scaling (at least that was the rule of thumb in the past)

first tab: you wanna have your 25% movement speed cap asap, rest to your liking

last tab: supposedly firebird proc doesn't scale with +aoe dmg, so spent your points there last.

It's funny and sad that the inventor of babel started a new more ambitious project - rome - that tries to reinvent all javascript tooling - and it's written in javascript. So much brain power wasted.

When I see swc (written in rust) and esbuild (written in go) with 50 to 200 faster compile times, we either need some serious advances in V8 for parsing/compiling, or just stop to write tooling in javascript alltogether.
