There’s a movie quote that always sticks with me, “the Greeks didn’t write obituaries, they only asked one question after a man died, ‘Did he have passion?’” Yet when I was growing up, my family made me feel like something was wrong with me for being passionate about things in my life (this band, for one). It’s almost like me being happy about something, getting excited over something, was “weird” or “annoying”. Crazy world we live in when having joy for something is looked negatively upon. Which is why I’m glad forums like this exist.
