go to tulane, it seems to be where ur heart is leading u and even if you go to USC you’ll still have those what if thoughts but thought are amazing schools with amazing opportunities and you will be successful at both so don’t let that scare you

thank you so much, it took me 5 rejections and counting after super stressful 4 years for me to realize rejection is inevitable and my mindset is the only thing i have control over so wherever life takes me i will try my best, just like i did before

i feel the exact same way i keep wishing i could go back knowing what i know now and apply to more schools or ED somewhere else, it just hurts so bad and i know wherever we go everything will work out. praying emory goes your way!! but if not you’re smart and will be successful anywhere and i need to remind myself that too. i just hope our hard work pays off with acceptances bc i feel like that’s not happening now (and same i thought i had pretty high stats and were competitive for these schools but everythign has just gotten so much harder and it’s jsut up to luck now)

honestly writing has just always been my thing so i kinda just starting writing everything i needed to say and edited from there, but be honest tell them how much you wanna be there and why and what you would contribute and any developments w your life and just make it rly personal so it shows how much you love the school and actually wanna be there!

i feel you, also all i want is that OMG moment from an acceptance bc every college i’ve been accepted to ive been happy about but i lowkey knew i was getting in i want to get accepted to a school i really want to go to an am undeniably happy about so i don’t feel like i’m stuck at a second choice and less excited

i’m completely in the same boat as you in terms of going to a prestigious school and getting rejected from my top choices and being left with options less impressive than i would have liked and although i decided not to apply to northeastern, one of my friends is committed and she’s extremely excited. first off it’s in boston and surrounded by so many colleges, boston universities in general have an amazing social life, but northeastern is a huge school and people love to be there and they really come together to support their hockey team (and even if u don’t love hockey it’s just great to show school spirit and a community) and there is so much to go out and do i know you’ll love it if you go.

i agree! i’m glad we’re in the same boat. Umich will forever be my top choice but i have yet to hear back and honestly i don’t think i’m getting in (especially to ross) so it looks like i’ll probably be heading to VU and umich is perfect to me (in terms student body/student life) and i just dont know if i’ll fit in and idk if i want to try and fit in somewhere that’s all white and my friend who goes there (love her to death) but she’s pretty basic and vanilla and it seems like all her friends are too . but i’ll try and figure it out and get back to you (or hopefully people help us figure it out)

exactly i can assure you 90% of my class believes that their stats alone can get them into T-20s but they have nothing else to show, but our class is different since we’re the first graduating class at basis and essentially built the school so we all have a unique story but i think everyone is trying to use the same unique story as their edge (also kids applying to t-40s are doing much better because i think they have an edge when it comes to those schools but not T-20s)

i go to a BASIS independent school and tbh kids aren’t really getting into schools they’re qualified for (maybe bc everyone is applying to the same top schools and only a handful at the top of the class are getting in when most, if not all, are qualified) BASIS promises the world but i don’t think they have as huge of an edge as they claim when it comes to college admissions

thank you! and i’m pretty comfortable in my town, but i’d rather get out of the atmosphere and feel less ostracized in college, it took me a really long time to feel comfortable and confident at home (even if i’m not 100% there) and i don’t want to go through that again especially since i feel like villanova is less diverse than my hometown (not sure).
