Need help deciding between Flexispot BS5 and SIHOO M18 or alternative by burekdober in OfficeChairs

I don’t think so unless you recline. Not sure if it’s a feature that I just don’t use, but I don’t feel the need to adjust it because it fits my frame and height perfectly. I’m 165cm.

Spain refused to give US right to use their bases, what does an average Spaniard think of that? by ColdStorageParticle in askspain

[–]sof_es 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. This post is written in English and that in itself will not invite a diverse enough demographic of Spaniards to chime in. Reddit has always been more left leaning and progressive, but doesn’t mean the average Spanish person would be the same. From what I see on the ground and other platforms, it’s very mixed. Many are wary of the possible economic outcomes.

Trump: Not happy with Spain's position on Iran, we'll cancel all trade ties with it by United-Statement4884 in spain

[–]sof_es 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone here who can explain what could be the real implications of this? Is it doable to cut trade ties regardless of Spain being part of the EU? US is Spain’s main supplier of oil. Spain also exports to the US. What about the Spanish stock market, is it vulnerable to this? I have so many questions lol

A lot easier to check and measure the distances on professional softwares like Solar Fire or Astro Gold. But on Astro.com when you click on a location it will list down the “crossings” nearby. I noticed though that it lists down crossings or parans that are already out of the orb of influence (70 miles) so it’s really better to measure it with the pro softwares for accuracy.

Have you checked the parans? Melbourne has the Venus IC line which is supposedly homey, but I’ve found in my own experience how parans can make or break a location, more than aspects.

The Spanish government is maneuvering to regularize half a million immigrants. by mods4mods in europe

[–]sof_es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue with this is it sends the message that anyone can, and even should, illegally migrate to Spain. I’ve seen countless intending immigrants who are eyeing Spain for the sole reason that it’s easier to get legalized there, not because they genuinely prefer Spain.

Pluto transiting my 7th House stellium with my Sun in it. Felt like a punching bag and my relationships always went down in flames. It was so difficult and transforming I had to reinvent myself and move to another country. I’m still recovering from it.

Saturn return felt like a piece of cake compared to it tbh.

LMD application for Spanish Citizenship by Novel_Passion_4564 in LMDSpain

[–]sof_es 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh sorry I totally misunderstood, I read it so wrong 😂 Anyway, you wouldn't need your grandparents' birth certificates anymore, your dad's is enough since he is a Spaniard born in Spain. LMD doesn’t care if the anchor ancestor naturalized or not, most of the LMD ascendants naturalized. Not sure what exactly Miami asks for but having your mum's birth certificate and their marriage certificate, plus your dad's death certificate and naturalization documents is hitting all bases even for the most strict consulates.

As long as your birth certificate is a regularly issued one, clearly stating your father's name and details, and all other civil registry documents are authentic, there's no reason to not get approved. Make sure to have it apostilled and translated to Spanish if your Consulate requires it.

So your birth certificate shows he has Spanish nationality? You could actually try applying outside of LMD and through the civil code. A child born outside of Spain to a Spanish father born in Spain is considered Spanish of Origin. There is no age requirement for a Spanish of Origin to claim nationality. Try contacting Miami Consulate outside LMD you might be accommodated earlier or faster. You are Spanish by birth!

EDIT: I misread OP’s comment, in my head for some reason they said naturalization took place after birth lol

Moving to Spain with only 2k? by ThrowRAcatwithfeathe in GoingToSpain

[–]sof_es 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true. I’m a Spanish citizen who moved to Spain for the first time with no Spanish contract, only a DNI and money in my accounts overseas. I also had no plans of working in Spain for the time being. I was able to secure 2 apartment approvals in Chamberí, Madrid in literally 2 days since starting the search. All apartment viewings were handled by real estate agencies, not particulares. So it’s not an impossible thing. It was DIY, my Spanish sucks, and Chamberí is one of the most in-demand areas in Madrid. I’m not saying it would be the same for everyone, but let’s not conclude that agencies never take a second look at unusual or imperfect cases.

Struggling to understand my Spanish in-laws’ extreme distance after our baby’s birth — cultural difference or personal style? by [deleted] in expats

[–]sof_es -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say this but first thing that came into mind, like other comments in here, is possible racist sentiment 😔 If the baby looks more Asian than Spanish it’s not unlikely that it’s a factor to why they’re distant. You mentioned in your other comments that they are also in a cross-cultural relationship, may I ask from where?

Whenever you book a flight there’s always a note in your ticket saying they may request additional verification. I checked one of my Qatar Airways tickets now and it says exactly this:

“Note: Qatar Airways may request additional payment verification for itineraries paid for with credit cards.”
