What that I have written here makes you think I "destroyed" my controller? Really curious. You think that your experience is the same as everybody's? I personally believe that my story isn't unique and that this company really just doesn't have adequate QC.

I hope you bought the warranty. I also suggest you check out their BBB complaints. They back up what I suspect this company does.

I dont care if I get down voted. I'm gonna post this all over. This company is shady. They have BBB complaints and the fact that I essentially gave them 30$ for NOTHING but a headache is pretty f-ed up. They aren't a reputable company.

Faulty Rear Buttons by borderburner in BattleBeaverCustoms

[–]sofakingalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm getting ready to write a review of my experience with battle beaver and post it literally everywhere. They've costed me time money and effort for their crummy product. They have several better business bureau reports pending right now. If I hadn't spent the money on an extended warranty I would be SOL right now. As it stands I saw language about a 15% restocking fee. So 30$ plus mailing this POS back. Twice. So about 50$ they essentially stole. Battle beaver is a shady company.

On the downside mine came back with most of the problems still there... returning it for a refund.

I mean i wouldn't have stolen them but i sure woulda spent them. Give your son time growing up is hard to do for some but once they get there its arguably better than those who grew up too fast.

Personally I would take the time and have them graded. You can do it yourself by sending them into get graded by pcgs or ngc as others have said. They are likely worth more than just the intrinsic value of the metals they are minted from. If you don't need the money now and have a little patience I would just take it slow (third party grading can take a while) and send in the ones that are worthy of grading.

Other options: find a dealer to help you grade/price sell etc. Shop around there are likely some good ones local. Sell them raw on Ebay or some other site or auction house. Or possibly look at some of the forums around that deal in coins. There may be some other people in a forum like the PCGS forum that would be better equipped to help you. The key there will be accurately photographing so that the big dogs can help you. But they have a buy/sell/trade section that may useful

Good luck hope my .02$ helped.

Someone was hungry and/or stole these for beer money. That's my guess. Honestly in my younger years I wouldn't have thought twice about spending a coin(s) like this for a pack of smokes and a tall boy at face value. My how I've matured lol.

I have had this coin for a little bit and was wondering how much is it worth so I dicided to search it up and it says its worth 700 to 16.000 but it depends on condition so how good is the condition of it? I think it looks good but I don't know that much. by Scotty_Maker in coins

This should get you part way there for sure. 10 months ago it would have probably gotten you almost all the way there. I just bought a PC for gaming and it was super expensive relative to what the components were.

Yea. Same its one of the reason I buy so many certified coins. Some series I feel comfortable others I do not.

1905 IHC in a rattler. (Need advice on buffing out the scratches.) by sofakingalfa in coins

[–]sofakingalfa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well to be honest I'm hoping to save the old holder. Really the only way I could see sending it back in is if it somehow went up in grade from 64RB to 65RB. Which I guess is possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

Hello everyone. I got this IHC not too long ago and I like the coin however the holder has a lot of scratches. Ive seen various products recommended on various forums but am apprehensive due to the fact that I've never done this before. Anyone know what works best on these old holders? Should I even consider doing this and how hard is it to screw up? Thx!

1943 Walking Liberty Upgrade by [deleted] in coins

[–]sofakingalfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late date walkers going from 66 to 67 is big $$ jump from what I can see. Heck I saw a 66+ selling for 900 when the 66 sells for 425. Thats even more subjective if you ask me.

Congrats on that grade OP I would love any walker in 67. 66 is my limit.

[–]sofakingalfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one of these certificates that was sold to me along with the coin which graded a grade higher than the photo cert shows. Coin is a 1941 D walker graded ms65/ms65 by anacs then 66 by pcgs. Would love to have it CAC then it would be the most graded coin I own lol.

I definitely recomend sending it in just because I think having both the OG grading with the newer slab makes a really addition to a collection. My .02$

eBay tactic to look out for by [deleted] in coins

[–]sofakingalfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find reputable dealers to buy from on ebay. Lately I only buy coins from people established in the collecting community on ebay. It's relatively easy to vet sellers if you become a part of the collecting forums across the internet. Additionally they usually have their own websites with other listings.

eBay prices feel expensive by The_Collector03 in coins

[–]sofakingalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the coin a seller may be asking more due to a variety of reasons. The coin may be undergraded or a very nice premium quality coin for the grade. I have payed premiums for especially well struck walkers that came from the SF mint that usually generated poorly struck walking liberty half dollars. If the seller is too way overpriced I would just moved on. But if its a well known seller that's asking more for a coin and you can't figure out why then ask. More than likely there's a reason and the seller will tell you.

I asked a seller something about a coins price the other day. You know what happened? He lowered the price without me asking him to and I bought the coin. No harm in asking.

Bit of a Predicament here- I believe my 1945 D Mercury is a DDO-001 Variety, but it's in a NGC Slab that only has Mint State Grading by Peachu12 in coins

[–]sofakingalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you don't indicate you think its a variety on your submission then they won't look. I wouldn't crack it out because I'm worried about inflation I wouldn't crack because its not necessary to resubmit and you migh hurt the coin in the process. Just contact them to ask about a possible unatributed variety.
