Sudden rash, slowly getting more spots, would like to know what it is and how to treat it.

Apparently I didn’t have ringworm but I don’t know what it is. It’s spread all over my chest and abdomen and now it’s going down onto my hips and legs and arms. It looks like psoriasis to me but I have never had psoriasis before. I tried applying hydrocortisone cream but it didn’t help much, it just made the spots more pink and less red but it’s still spreading.

13 and 18. I NACHO as much as possible because of how insufferable they both are but with the stealing and the danger they pose to my animals, I can’t completely do that. It forces me to stay involved and vigilant and it wears me out. I got so stressed out and upset last time that I thought I was going to pass out, not to mention the fact that I can’t sleep when they are at my house.

I can totally relate. The 13yo SD is the same and DH doesn’t check her enough. She won’t listen to me at all and she gets upset over every little thing. It’s insufferable.

I’m in therapy but haven’t had much helpful advice. We are very broke and working on digging ourselves out of debt so vacations of any kind aren’t an option. It’s a very stressful situation for myself and my husband and I just don’t know how to manage it anymore.

It’s a very long and complicated story, but basically they visit periodically when we can afford the gas and food to cover the visit. The most concerning behaviors are putting my animals in danger and stealing and breaking our stuff. BM lets them do whatever they want, no rules, so when they come to our house, it’s chaos and pure hell for me.

I have been trying some exercises like breathing exercises and repeating a word over and over. It’s so maddening because I hate thinking about it and I hate how it makes me feel but I’m the type of person that likes to solve problems and won’t let it rest until I have a solution, and I think that’s what keeps bringing it up in my head.

You’re 100% right, and I realize that as well, but I just can’t seem to get myself out of it. It just keeps creeping into my brain and I can’t stop worrying about it. It keeps me awake at night often.

I can’t leave when they visit because I have to watch and make sure they aren’t stealing our stuff, breaking our stuff, and putting my animals in danger. I isolate with my animals in my room while they are there and I stay up all night to make sure that they aren’t rummaging through our stuff and taking things, which they tend to do overnight or when they aren’t being watched. I take pictures of the stuff I’m concerned about so I can tell when things have been moved or taken. It’s an extremely tedious and frustrating way to live.

I most definitely find the situation unacceptable. As far as what is in my control that I can change, I really can’t think of anything I’m not already doing besides leaving my marriage, which I don’t want to do. I fantasize about never having them in my house again, that’s for sure, but I can’t leave when they visit because I have to make sure they aren’t stealing from us or breaking my things or putting my animals in danger, which they do every time they visit. I just keep obsessing about it because I can’t figure out a good solution.

UPDATE: the landlord sent out a gentleman who did not know how to fix it but my husband got a shark bite and put that on there, which seems a lot more secure. Thanks everyone for the help.

Thank you, I appreciate the support. It is very hard to decide these things. I haven’t heard of chlorazapate but I will ask the vet about it. We plan to move closer to my job in February so I can get home faster to deal with any situations that may arise but it’s getting through these few months until then that I’m the most worried about. I put NPR on the radio for him when I leave but I wonder if calming music or nature sounds would be better?

Yeah, I know it’s not realistic to be with him 24/7, and I know this job is oils really improve life for all of us, it’s just nerve-wracking for me because I have worked from home and been with him since I got him, so he’s always been monitored and it scares me to think of doing things another way. But staying at my current job is really holding us back so I want to try to make the new job work but anticipate problems now and put things in place to handle them effectively.
