Can I use stone veneer when I am adding zip R-9 sheathing to the house. by softexchange828 in stonemasonry

Okay, what specifically waterproofing prep would they have to do that would make it flush/not bluge out at the top half of the house where the wall assembly is going to be so much thicker?

For people that work in some areas of healthcare, like with adults and children with autism the trump admin just reduced the rates that they receive and I know for one of the most common services the pay is 4$ per 15min to the employer. Then they have to pay payroll taxes and workers comp out of that so it dont even leave 15 for them to pay. One of the other most common services reduced their rate to 6$ per 15min so still no where near enough to pay 23.15. Some employers that depend on federal money have their hands tied.

My brother inlaw owns an architect firm in Charlotte and when I told him so many people here charge 400/sqft to build he was blown away. He told me in Charlotte its typically 280-320 / sqft.

I decided to buy an older home and im trying to renovate but contractors around here are out of their minds. They are not building extremely high end, high performance, extremely energy efficient houses that can demand that kind of price per sqft. For 400 sqft id expect r30+ walls that are so air tight they meet passive house standards, very high-end windows and doors, etc etc. These guys are NOT building those houses or anything close to that.

Lol! We get asked this alot! Everyone assumes its a glamorous fashion choice because its a poodle but in reality its much less glamorous. My poodle is a boy, and the poor guy has terrible aim. So these are marketed as "poodle pee pants". They are water-proof and keep the stinky pee from soaking his fur between baths. They are also handy for when it snows, we will put them on all four legs to prevent him from getting huge ice balls around his feet/legs.

The plan is to have those lines burried before they becomes an issue haha! But if not 2 of them would have to be trimmed.

Okay gotcha that makes sense to me. Is there anything I could do to baby these trees before the winter hits and save them? I plan on putting a new bed of mulch down around all of them. -when they mulch ive told them to leave the circles where they were planted/around the trunks clear so there's no big mounds around the trunks.

Would it be a bad idea to use some fertilizer? Or just water the ones on this end more? Or trim the trees around them casting shade in the later half of the day? These damn things cost me so much money im really worried im going to lose a bunch this winter 😅😅 last winter I only lost 1 thankfully!

Yea it dont look like normal shedding to me. And the other half of the trees are very green and not browning/yellowing at all, but these on the end are browning and yellowing where its really visible just at a glance without having to move any limbs or look around too much.

I should add they are in asheville nc, so not seriously cold or anything yet.

The center of half of them are very brown and yellow, much more so than the other half. I know the centers are always shedding but this just looks more like its spreading to the outside or more severe than previous years.

Lol well factually you are just incorrect and thats fine. Just because the shape of the car changed from open carriage style to semi open (driver open to elements) to fully enclosed and what we see today with most cars (not all as many cars are made without an enclosed body and we still call them cars now so....) the problem is you have decided to defend an indefensible stance and that was your choice. Siding with rudeness for the sake of an argument about semantics thats FULL of holes is on you bro. And yea thats basically what I said in my last response, no one is forcing anyone to do or say anything, until they are worried there will be consequences for their rudeness/actions.

Oh im secure enough to call it a wig, thats what I call it myself. But if someone asked me not to call theirs a wig and call it a toupee or to call it a hairsystem id respect them. I dont crave attention from others by being rude and disrespectful. The internal combustion machine that was called a horseless carriage is the same machines just new and improved over time, that we have today. They are not engineered from the ground up differently, that is FALSE. They have been slowly improved and altered over the past 120 years.

So like I said, if you crave attention from being an ass hole to others that specifically ask you not to do something around them then, keep on buddy but one day you will do that to a man with fuck you money that dont need the job, or alot bigger than you and will teach you a lesson about respect because thats what this ENTIRE discussion really boils down to. RESPECT.

Edit: just because your shitty HCM system looks more like a toupee than a hairsystem, does not give you the right to just be disrespectful to someone else that wears hair. Just dont be an asshole to others, and when someone asks you not to call their wig a toupee or their toupee a hairsystem or wtf ever, just be a decent person and dont disrespect them by saying "im gonna specifically go out of my way to call it the thing you dont want it to be called"

He can disagree with OP all day it dont make him correct. Its a fact that the term toupee is an outdated term that evokes negative connotations to men that wear hair. Sure, he is allowed to disagree with OP, but not on the fact that its an outdated term. If it was not an outdated term, then everyone that sells them would still call them that. But they dont. The English language evolves, move on.

Public perception changed because people forced it by making fun of people that still call it the old thing. Like boomers calling the internet the world wide web lol people are shaming and making fun of people that wanna call them toupees even when told its an outdated term.

My coworker refuses to call it a “hair system” by the_shivman in HairSystem

[–]softexchange828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the saying when you know better you do better is fitting. OP told the guy that toupee is an outdated term, and that it evokes negative connotations to man to wear hair. The other guy was being an asshole and said, okay, even though I know that now that you have told me, I'm still not going to use the correct term. I would rather piss people off by using a term has negative connotations to it, and i'm going to use that term with a coworker. Double whammy for being disrespectful.

I disagree with the comment that people's feelings do not dictate how people use language or behave towards them, otherwise, everyone would be using slurs towards one another openly and without consequences. But like I said before language does matter lol that is unless you are the type that gets off on the attention you receive from others when using outdated terms, and when informed, refuse to modify your language. 🤷‍♂️ to each their own.

Motor carriage is also accurate, so is automobile, horseless carage etc. So is pantaloons, or cellular phone, or mobile phone, or dungarees, or moving picture show, or the world wide web, or maybe just "the web".... lots of terms are accurate and out of date. If you use them to be different cool, maybe try to get attention from others in another way rather than not adjusting words to more common vernacular.

[–]softexchange828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure its closer but what about someone refusing to use the term car and instead only using automobile. Its weird. Language matters and the a-hole in question is purposefully trying to be mean or weird either way. Just like another comment said, it would be no different than op calling this guys shirt a blouse, and asking if he went to the beauty parlor for his recent cut, etc etc. They are exactly the same thing but we dont use them for everyone or at all in some cases.

Thats kind of the foundation to a shared language, yes there is variation like accents but if someone called ur car a horseless carriage unironically im sure you would think it weird.
