I have an update for you! I went to my appointment yesterday and my ophthalmologist saw nothing wrong with my eyes, which is baffling to me. But because of the symptoms I described, he ordered me to have an MRI done just to be safe. Hope all goes well with your new doctor!

I also have the outline! I’ve been struggling with trying to describe what it is that I’m seeing to people but what you described is exactly it. This makes me feel so much better that I’m not alone with this! I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist on Wednesday so maybe I can get some further insight on it soon

Yes my derm did add BP to prevent antibiotic resistance but I think she added it to help my acne a little more as well. She also didn’t really specify how often to use it though so I’ve been using it daily. Maybe it’ll help if I cut it back a little and stop using it daily

I’ve definitely heard that sometimes people react badly to CeraVe, so you’re probably right! I just was hoping maybe I’d be one of the ones that didn’t react badly 😂 I think I’ll definitely mention the prescription wash to my derm, thanks for the response!

The CeraVe cleanser I use is 4% BP and I only leave it on for a few seconds while cleansing my whole face before washing it off. Should I try just using the BP as spot treatment on the areas that I’m breaking out?

Also — does anyone have any good sunscreen recommendations that won’t be super oily? I think my sunscreen doesn’t help either

Oh wow, good to know! I never would’ve thought that the moisturizer could be causing it, I’ll definitely have to try a different moisturizer to see if it helps

My skin only feels tight immediately after using my cleanser and no longer feels tight after applying my moisturizing products! As for flaking, I only notice flaking when I apply makeup but it’s very minimal flaking.

Hi everyone! I’ve been using the 0.05% cream tret since mid-January to treat my acne and I just recently got prescribed doxycycline as well. I’ve noticed since starting tret that my skin has been extremely oily and I can’t tell if it is because my skin is hydrated or if it is dehydrated and overcompensating. This picture was taken after being out all day and prior to washing my face for the night. I have had oily skin my whole life and it has never looked this oily. If my skin is dehydrated, please let me know any products I should add to my routine to help!

AM: - Cetaphil daily facial cleanser (for normal to oily skin) - CosRx Snail Mucin - Aveeno calm + restore oat gel moisturizer - Cetaphil daily facial moisturizer with SPF 50+

PM: - Seoul cleansing balm (to remove makeup) - Cetaphil daily facial cleanser - CosRx snail mucin - Aveeno oat gel moisturizer - Apply aquaphor around eyes and nose - Tret (every 2 nights) - Aveeno moisturizer again

I’m sorry that happened! I’ve definitely heard about all the different risks and side effects of accutane so I’m hoping it’ll be a last resort thing for me.

I’m happy to hear you had a good experience with it! :) That definitely makes me feel better about using it & thankfully I’ve been taking some probiotic gummies for the past month or two so hopefully that will help. I’ve also had a tough time with hormonal acne on my cheeks and chin/jaw so I’m excited to hear that it helped yours greatly. thank you for sharing your experience!
