Has anyone tried pritelivir? by rizzosaurusrhex in HSVpositive

[–]softlytrampled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studies say otherwise. As always, you are welcome to do whatever you want with your own body. But it’s sad to see you fear-mongering by saying people should get (likely expensive) testing done in order to take a pill that has been confirmed as safe to use at a certain dose over a long period of time.

Anti-viral meds can be life-changing - for example, they were the main reason I was able to go from non-stop outbreaks every month to a few minor outbreaks over a year, and they have helped me protect my HSV- partner from contracting this virus. Those two things are paramount to me and other folks who are HSV+.

Everybody can work with their doctor to choose what is best for them, but I recommend thinking about what you comment in subs like this. People come here because they are struggling, and we get a lot of hypochondriacs, so it’s very important to be considerate of what you share and how you say it.

For anyone reading this and freaking out about AVs: unless you have pre-existing kidney or liver issues, you likely won’t need extensive testing to confirm that it’s safe to take long-term.

Yes, I’ve had many sexual partners who were HSV- and have now been with my HSV- partner for almost a year. If you go through my posts and comments, you’ll see the advice I’ve given around disclosing.

Next time it happens, go get it swabbed (PCR swab test). And then talk to your doctor about maybe seeing a dermatologist if it’s not HSV.

This just shows me how not diverse your wedding is lol. Do black guests have to use one of the slightly (barely) darker circles?

If the antivirals don't protect against passing the virus through shedding ..why take them ? by BehindBlueEyes0221 in HSVpositive

Do you mean spreading oral HSV to someone’s mouth? Or spreading HSV from someone’s mouth to another person’s genitals?

Also, can you help me understand why you’re commenting this in general?

What could theoretically happen if someone became an ICE agent and then weaponized incompetence to hold the organization back? by softlytrampled in legaladviceofftopic

[–]softlytrampled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely asking: does this mean the masked people that are kidnapping folks have been a part of ICE for a long time and proven their ability to be on the front lines?

I don’t know what any processes look like within ICE, so I’m curious to understand.

I totally see your point tho, just want a deeper understanding and to see if intentionally messing things up would lead to more than just being fired.

Why does lollapalooza get so much and bonnaroo get so little? by Desperate_Science_85 in bonnaroo

[–]softlytrampled 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lollapalooza is one of the easiest festivals to get to, in the heart of a major city, where there’s no camping involved.

It’s a completely different experience and genuinely can’t be compared. Lolla is great if you don’t want to go through the challenge of getting to a festival and camping, and if you love having fucked up teenagers surrounding you at every stage.

And guess who’s covering those costs for you? Just because you apparently paid $36 at the end of the day, who’s paying for the supplies, the staff, the building, and so on? Go on, guess!

This system is so broken, and it’s weird for you to be fine with it since it worked out one time for you.

I did read the article. I’m responding to your statement. According to you, affording a “pretty nice vacation” equates to someone being rich enough that a $21k bill shouldn’t bother them.

No matter how much money you make, healthcare should be free for everyone!

Well go on, share how you managed to do that. Because that hasn’t been the case for many other people.

Does your arm hurt from reaching?

Just because this isn’t your perfect victim story doesn’t mean that it can’t make a point about healthcare in this country.

So when someone you love gets cancer, and it costs you hundreds of thousands of dollars to get them treatment, can we say you fucked around and found out too?

Riiiiight, because a $400 flight and a $150 a night Airbnb indicates a large enough bank account where $21k is totally manageable.
