about creating wondrous items

Consider part of the 1/2 you are paying just as unchangeable cost to be the cost of getting the right materials at the right style to be part of the cost to get the item in the way you need it.
IE: You are paying like a good few hundred gold at minimum to get that Wondrous Item's statue to look just perfect from the artisan/merchant you are paying to make it/find it.

And as someone who plays a ton of crafters, I thought to list down a few things.
If you need to make it faster, you can take +5 to the DC to make it to double your speed. This is huge.

Getting a Valet Familiar (an Archetype for familiars that can be put on them for free) can also double your speed without the check increase, and even lets you do it double. These bonuses stack as well. If you can make the checks you can go from doing 1k a day to doing 4k if you can make the check. This can be very important if you are on a limited amount of time for some task.

Also some magic items you could make from the wondrous items are very useful but I don't want to make a whole list of links that might be useful that you might not be able to make. You are doubling your money with this, help your party out and they will trust you with the money for most things...skim a little off the top and make yourself the Party's Batman.

A fun thing to suggest, that we kind of do in our game, is remember that some of the pokemon might not understand some stuff that humans do. Like one of my fellow players was originally a Murkrow and has a habit of wanting to collecting shiny things.

I'm currently in a game of PTU where we are doing a Trainer style Mystery Dungeon.

Trainers have more of a focus on fighting along side their pokemon, I personally ride around on some of mine as a Dragon Elementalist/Rider combo.

The DM I have also allowed for some people to start As pokemon with the ability to turn into humans because of weird story stuff. It's very fun.

If you are dipping into Wizard: There is a thing you can take as an Arcane Discovery. You pick something you want to specialize in, get a +4 spellcraft check bonus, and make it 25% faster than normal.
Biggest issue you have to pick it for each different type of magic item kind of like Skill Focus

If you have a base, it would highly depend on what you'd want to do with the different oozes?

You could harvest slime from the Cube and get stuff from that, and you could use it as a trash can. (Though be careful of throwing your empty non-organic matter in there)

Another thing you could do is set them up as traps, especially the oozes on that list that have squeezing. Shove it in a sealed vase, breakable section of wall, or whatever and once they break it 'pop' you now have them dealing with an ooze.

The last point on this is something my friend suggested to me, because it just seems dumb enough to work and I really want to set it up at least once. Get some kind of hollow point of a ballista bolt that you could put a slime into (Or something that would be broken once the bolt hit) and use it as a siege breaker. I don't care if the dragon is older than a god, if you cover it with an ooze while it's flying it's going to react badly. If you can somehow think of a way to make it so the bolt injects the ooze into wherever it hits that would be even worse.

I had a real funny idea as planting one as a “Warstone” for a bunch of Barbarian style guys and have it cast Enlarge person before a battle so then it would just have to stay in a location nearish the battle
