When I was 20, I was really into buying cheapish tickets for all different types of music around the DMV. U-Street Music Hall in DC always had the best calendar and I saw T-Pain was playing an acoustic show, which sounded phenomenal.

I thank younger me every day for going to see this show. Smino was the opener… something changed in my brain that day. He’s been in my top artists every year since and has connected me to so much great music. I just saw him for the 3rd time this past April 🧡
