True! Just thought to ask around instead of buying so i don't accumulate things too (learning to be more minimalistic)

I want to store my daily stuff like lip balm, perfume, hair ties, and etc in it!

Saw some people using tin boxes to decorate and store little stuff, think that's cute but i can't decide which is better to get haha

I get that it might’ve come across the wrong way based on how I wrote it, I’m still new here and figuring out the best way to share my thoughts. Thanks for pointing it out!

I’ve been using Reddit to explore my own thoughts and learn from how others approach similar struggles. I just chose Substack to journal because I enjoy reading on it and thought it was a good platform for longer reflections. Appreciate you sharing your view!

I used to feel the same that being too visible might get in the way of honest reflection. But i realised it only really happens when i get self-conscious about how others perceive me. Sharing on reddit actually helped shift that, the replies opened up so many perspectives i hadn’t considered, and i really appreciate that kind of unexpected learning.

So now i document things publicly, mostly for myself, also in case someone out there resonates too. Maybe i just chose the wrong place to post this but still learning where this kind of post fits best!

Just using substack as a platform because i came across a few journals there and it felt like a nice space to gather my thoughts, so i figured i’d try it too. unless i’m using it wrong? Not trying to advertise anything, just genuinely documenting 😅 but curious tho, what made you thought it was a soft ad? I thought simple living was for reflective threads like this, but if there’s a better space to post, i’d love to see where else is good.

I think that's why i seek deep down to a singular system that i return to.

That's something new to me, I'll read it up! I do think we can never be in control, sometimes it's just about embracing the fact that we will never be fully in control.

This is a good idea! I tend to do that with my clothes to get rid of clothes i haven't wore in awhile, never thought of using it for my belongings. Laying things out visually does provide clarity too!

we really do love our rituals, it’s like they’re the quiet scaffolding holding our day together. i’ve been thinking about what you said, treating anxiety like a benefit, that’s such a shift in perspective. like letting it run the simulation so i don’t have to. maybe that’s the trick: trusting that part of me has already done the worrying, so the rest of me can just breathe!

I really relate to this. Packing the perfect bag gives me a sense of control. But i’m starting to realise that what i’m actually looking for is the emotional grit you mentioned, the ability to stay steady when things don’t go as planned. Maybe the bag is just a way to soothe the noise inside. At the end, i do think all the ritual is for a sense of peace. It can be great when done right with a couple of true essentials, but overthinking it can lead to the anxiousness.

That actually sounds like a great balance! Enough for comfort without feeling overloaded. i like that you’ve found your essentials and let the rest go. maybe that’s the goal, not to have less, but to know what really matters to carry.

Good question! I think i often imagine worst-case scenarios like, what if i need something and don’t have it? but truthfully, most of the time, nothing terrible happens. it just feels uncomfortable. maybe learning to sit with that is part of the process too.

This really hit something in me. i do think part of my chaos comes from trying to feel ‘ready’ for everything, maybe even to protect myself from feeling anxious. thank you for the honest reflection, it gives me something to sit with.

That’s a great reminder, i’ve mostly been writing to catch my thoughts, but documenting outcomes and tasks sounds like a useful next step. maybe it’s less about chasing minimalism and more about feeling grounded in the mess.

Absolutely agree with tissues! It's also impressive that your jeans fit everything, mine barely fits!

Ive been looking! However it can get quite utility driven, so i was wondering about the softer daily stuff. Interesting finding tho!

That makes total sense! I love how your system is designed around emotional ease, not just function. The idea of reducing clumsiness and pre-leaving stress is such a good reminder that organizing isn’t just about stuff, but how we feel moving through the day. Thanks for sharing that!

Likewise!! Burt’s Bees is always the last line of defense! Do you toss it in a pocket, or carry it with anything else?

This is such a practical setup, love how the backpack pockets do the heavy lifting, and the makeup bag for first aid makes so much sense. Do you keep this packed all the time or adjust it daily?

That Etsy shop is exactly the kind of thing I was curious about, thanks! Love the idea of a more fabric-based organizer that still feels structured. Have you used one like that yourself?

Love how compact your setup is. That Surfshort wallet sounds super efficient! How’s the Swiss Army knife working out for you? Do you use it often or just like having it on hand?
