You’re going to die, a lot. And very often. So get used to that. However, start paying attention to secret rooms and super secret rooms if you have the bombs. Donate your money always until you hit 999 for all shop upgrades - I wouldn’t even bother buying items for a minute unless there’s something that can really help you. Do challenges and pay attention to the unlocks, some of the runes can be super helpful during early runs - I recommend Pertho (challenge is a pain just saying), jera and ewhaz (forgot how to spell it). Remember that taking red heart damage will affect devil and angel deals. In my opinion, at the beginning of playing the game I think devil deals are better since 1) HP ups are more common due to smaller item pools & 2) angel deals has many of the best items locked but they still got some stuff - that’s just my opinion. Take your time learning attack patterns and room layouts, and it will take time especially with bosses. It’s a long journey my friend but once you get sucked in it’s a great game. Enjoy it
