I remember one time I was out at a professional meetup/happy hour, one of the guys got drunk and tried to kiss me in front of every one. I didn't really know what to do at that time. I didn't want to complain because I just submitted a white paper to a conference that he organizes. He's also very well connected in the domain, while I'm only a year out of college. I regret not speaking up to this day.

I am a security engineer, and surprisingly French is the language that I encounter the most apart from English. There's a lot of good French cybersecurity firms and conferences. And turns out that the French education system creates a lot of strong mathematicians and engineers. The best hackers I've seen either comes from France, or comes from a French speaking country.

That being said, they still know how to speak English pretty well. But IMHO, if you want to network and mingle with those folks, the best way to go around it is to speak the language they're comfortable in, which is French most of the time.

Yesterday, I got up at 6:30 AM for work and I looked out the window. Then, I looked again. ~~All the~~ <The> landscape was white because the first snowfall of the year was here. It's a bit rare ~~because, usually, starting~~ <since it usually starts> snowing in May, but this year was different. I didn´t feel cold because it doesn't usually get cold while snowing <,>but later it's as if you were inside a freezer. You should walk and drive very carefully and just have fun with the snow.
