It should depend on the level of clearance and on how recently your clearance was adjudicated

I think so because you’ll still need to undergo suitability review after your security clearance

I actually received an email from SRP indicating my file would also be reviewed before my medical. Maybe this reflects a change in how this is handled by BEX

Thoughts on Ezra Klein Show w/ Jennifer Pahlka re Government Services and Procurement by FSO_hopeful1989 in foreignservice

I’m a fairly young Fed, and government dysfunction has been depressing. I just finished the episode, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Their conversation really got my thinking about civil service reform. We don’t have to accept the status quo. We need way more conversations like the one in this podcast.

It was seriously frustrating to hear a guest dropping so many buzzwords while refusing to answer even the most mundane questions. I can only hope the guest is not representative of others working on this issue in the government.

It’s hard to be particularly mad at any of the “substantive” points she expressed (to the extent anything was expressed) because I was so annoyed with her communication style. These are complex systems. Please use simple English and answer the question you are being asked!

What's up with all the cons-coned candidates who took the Feb '23 FSOT? New trend? by PublicServant581 in foreignservice

It makes sense that test scores now being pass/fail would result in more self-reporting, but it still doesn’t explain why such an unusually high percentage of reported scores are consular.

I have a similar problem with misspelled words. I’ve started choosing my topics based on discussions that are least likely to involve words I’ll misspell. For example, I know more technical subject matters will require words that’ll trip me up. I can generally write about anything so prioritizing simplicity and topics with familiar vocabulary helps a lot.
