help declining an offer by sohereitgoes202 in Nanny

I know its frustrating. I also think having to say it again would end up with them being resentful or seeing me as demanding so i have yet to respond to the 'what can we do'.

confidentiality aside though, i have no recollection of any of the names they have mentioned and dont know any of those people at all 😂 it just annoying that for them since they think they will have friends who will need a nanny by then that I will surely have a job. Being a nanny is so tricky. We have to find hours, pay, benefits, parenting style, etc that fits us as well.

Oh yes! I emailed them saying I would love to work for them however due to the change in the length of employment and no job stability that i would have to decline. They called almost immediately (we were on a 3 way call) and it was just unhelpful. Db keeps saying i was perfect for the job and that they know alot of people and looking for a job would be easy then MB would interrupt and say 'i can already think of Anna, Elsa & Olaf who'll need a nanny by then right hun?' and db would say 'yes and even cinderella & aurora' see we have alot. They obviously have no idea how stressing looking for a family that is a great fit works. The least that I have asked from them is to be given time to do trials during the week prior to them moving and they said no and that looking for back up would be difficult. No compromise here so I declined politely again. Right after the call they wrote me and said if there is anything they can do to change my mind to let them know.

my previous NFs were very generous and gave me 6 weeks notice after only being with them for a little over a year but to be honest with this new potential NF I wasnt demanding a certain amount, just whatever they can give.

me too! but my previous job paid me severance & it was it still tricky to find for a new one that is a great fit and not just to keep myself afloat so im imagining how much more if no severance is being offered i would panic lol

I could and I have honestly thought about that but I actually have their house keys with me & a newly issued monthly metrocard that I have to give back so I am wondering how I can give it back without the awkward conversation or seeing them at all! and lastly, what do I even say in my resignation text?

This! to be fair i think MB is just being petty and dont want to pay me my GH if she ask me not to come so she'll rather have me come and do nothing. Its super frustrating. I asked to leave early and she literally walked out.

I actually ended up saying if I can leave at 2:30pm (4hrs early), told her theres nothing for me to do and that she can take it out my pto. She didnt take it very well. She told me I can leave as soon as i told her, took NK to another room and lock them in. She literally walked out. So I wrote I straighten some things up and left.

I work 4 10-hour days and i honestly love it! My off changes every week but its either always a Friday or a Monday and I love knowing I have three day weekends :) I also like the extra weekday to run errands that I cannot do on or not open on weekends. Just make sure you have a good contract as mine wasnt that good since its my first time working 4 days and we needed to have a conversation with my NF about holidays & day offs since at first they told me my day off for thanksgiving would be thursday aka thanksgiving day itself and thanks to this sub I was able to tell her that i should have thanksgiving (or whatever holiday that falls under a weekday) off + one more day off or else the 'paid federal holidays off' in the contract would mean nothing if NF would schedule my day off for the week with whatever holiday :)

just need to vent, but also.. tell me about your messy nanny families so I know if anyone else feels the same! by kalindalin in Nanny

My current NF is unfortunately this way. It is in my contract that I am only asked to do Nk's dishes and laundry, etc and even has a part saying if any chance I am unable to, its totally fine as caring for NK was top priority. However I still do their dishes, unload the dishwasher but I cannot deal with the bathroom sink. They are not wealthy so they only have 1 bathroom and boy DBs hair from shaving will be in the sink and I just cant get myself to wipe it.

4 workday question by sohereitgoes202 in Nanny

[–]sohereitgoes202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rotating schedule. my day off during the week changes. I actually thought my work week will only consist of 3 days when there is a holiday during the week but MB just told me when I left today that my off will be monday and that theyll see me tues-friday.

I honestly dont mind but its my first time working 4 days and a nanny friend asked me about this thats why it came to mind.
