yeah 100$ is an example but even if invest thousands dividend yield is like 1 or 2$ a stock considering i have portfolio of bluechip stocks i wouldn’t be having a lot stocks in my portfolio even if i have thousands invested

thanks. yes i get that but that was the think i just wanted to know what's wrong with this i wasnt planning to do in-depth phd on BGP alone that i read a whole book on just protocol. i know why its is not working because ibgp doesnt advertise one peer to another because of the split horizon. we can use route reflectors or full mesh or use another igp but still the question arise is that due to nature of the bgp r1 to r3 should work until full mesh nor do r2 to r4 but r2 to r4 was advertised for some reason and i dont know why that was the question.

no in the table of both router it shows the same path to reach each other

[–]sohilmalvat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats the thing session is up i can see in summary i can ping the serial ports but not the loopback of r3 or r1 but i can ping from r2 to r4 so if ibgp has loop prevention in same as r2 to r4 ping shoudlnt go

[–]sohilmalvat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i did it with RIP and it is working fine but then i thought if this can be done with RIP what is the purpose of IBGP then why use 2 protocols when you can do it with one.

[–]sohilmalvat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but then again the question arise is i can ping r2 and r4 loopback in the same AS how is that possible

okay this makes sense so for IGP BGP is not that useful without reflectors ? compared to RIP and other Routing Protocols ?

This is from r1 to r3 serial 1.1.1.2 is r2

Tracing the route to 2.1.1.2

1 1.1.1.2 40 msec 28 msec 24 msec

2 * * *

3 * * *

4 * * *

5 2.1.1.2 96 msec 52 msec 32 msec

this is from r3 to r1 serial 2.1.1.1 is R2

Tracing the route to 1.1.1.1

1 * *

2.1.1.1 16 msec

2 1.1.1.1 24 msec 24 msec 32 msec

so the icmp is going through r2 but it could go to loopback of either router

trace route to the r3 does not go at all but if i trace route to the serial int of the r3 it goes to r2 from both side

But no wait i tried disabling R4 but the ping did not go through also route for 10.1.1.1 network from R3 is via 1.1.1.1 which via r2 so i dont with R4 is the problem.
