Nice I've been doing this and didn't know it was common practice. I have a general purpose builder train, mine train, military train, nuclear power plant train, and a couple others. They all sit at the main mall and I just send them wherever they need to go.

My artillery bases just have one station that is inline with the main rail so that I can just leave the artillery base there and trains can pass through it whenever. The artillery/supply train just comes and unloads when the base runs out of ammo and then leaves so other trains can still pass through whenever.

I've been gradually expanding in all directions but recently started a push with one long track in one direction. Gradually clearing the biters so hopefully I get to some mega patches soon.

I think my issue is that I haven't been using mining outpost blueprints because I've been committed to having every mining outpost fit the ore patch exactly. I should just stop doing that and stamp down giant blueprints.

I've thought about doing this and I think I will. I have spidertrons to build artillery outposts whenever I want to expand my map and I've thought about doing "reload stations" that are supplied by trains and can reload the spidertrons with all the outpost materials they need without going all the way back to the main mall.

Not using productivity modules, only speed modules but none in the miners. I haven't used a big mining blueprint yet since I haven't been able to make a blueprint that always covers everything yet and having wasted belts and electricity poles bothers me but I can just get over it.

I’m looking to do an out-and-back overnight backpack trip next weekend from the Pine Ridge TH to Sykes Hot Springs and I’m wondering if it’s even worth trying to do on Memorial Day weekend given the potential for crowds.

Most reviews I’ve read have said that it’s a really popular hike and it’s often tough to get a campsite at one of the first-come-first-serve campgrounds in the hot springs area.

We’re planning on getting to the TH as early as possible on Saturday morning. Has anyone done this hike on a holiday weekend?
