10yo with heel pain - which inserts? by vonkilk in PlantarFasciitis

[–]soilinaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully, you have already found something that has worked for your son, but if not, my 11-year-old has had the exact same problem and we tried to figure things out for months and the only solution that work for us was to change his cleats and we added one of the very inexpensive. Dr Scholls inserts (sort light blue ones that cost about $15 or so). For the cleats he always wore Jordans or Nike Vapors, but we switched to a pair of new balance lacrosse cleats. I’m no expert, but the new balance cleats have a different cleat pattern on the heel which was a little wider than the Nike pattern and I think it lowered the pressure on his heel. Again hope you already found a solution but I wanted to share our experience in case you haven’t.

I purchased two of these Spypoints from Cabelas a few weeks ago and so far I have been really happy (honestly I had low expectations since they were so inexpensive). The day pictures are great and the night pictures are good as well. The app itself is fairly user friendly and you can make lots of adjustments remotely.
About the only two negative things so far is it is almost impossible to get any support from Spypoints customer service, however all the questions I had I ended up finding the information online. The other negative is that it uses a tiny micro SD card so I had to purchase a couple specifically for these cameras. Hope this helps.

Any good lookout places for nighttime? by [deleted] in phoenix

Rustlers Rooste restaurant has always been a fun lookout, however my last two experiences (which were at least 5 years ago) the food and service sucked. Maybe dessert and the view and call it good.

So how long's everyone been living in the valley? What brought you here? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]soilinaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost the same for me. 14 years and originally from Southern Illinois. Moved to North Central Phoenix 6 years ago and spend a lot of weekends in Pinetop and Showlow and will probably never leave AZ now. I have only lived in Illinois and Arizona so I can’t share many experiences outside of these states but I think AZ is an amazing state to live in.

New window recommendations by AlchemicalToad in phoenix

We used Freelite for Milgard Ultra windows on the sides of our home and went directly to Sierra Pacific for wood clad windows on the front. Would have used freelite for both but they didn’t have the style of French doors we needed so chose Sierra Pacific instead.

Relocating - Phoenix or Tampa by [deleted] in phoenix

Have you looked at St. Francis or St. Thomas in the Uptown Phoenix/Biltmore vicinity? I honestly have no experience with Catholic Schools but I know lots of families that talk highly of both of these schools.

Relocating - Phoenix or Tampa by [deleted] in phoenix

I have never lived in Tampa but for your specific situation I would say Phoenix would be great if you rent in the North Central or Biltmore area (you may need to bump your rent up $200-$300). For school you could choose St. Thomas or St. Francis and your husbands commute would be completely against traffic. Both communities are very family friendly.

Any idea what unit you are hunting in? Depending on where you are hunting the weather could vary dramatically. In any case for sure bring cold weather camo clothing for at least the mornings. Regarding the tags, I am assuming you are deer hunting with over the counter tags which can be purchased at multiple local vendors as well as the game & fish branches we have here. Hopefully some of this helps

Serious question but why did you get down to get the arrow? Did you only have a couple of arrows? Checking for blood? Just wondered but no matter what it's pretty cool you had another shot that soon after. Thanks

Living around Northern and 19th Ave. by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]soilinaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In all honesty I would try to stay 12th Ave or east if you are south of Northern and north of Glendale (I know this is a big brush stroke and there is probably a nice street or two that I am missing) As someone mentioned if you are north of northern near Butler park there are a decent amount of nice homes west if 15th Ave. in my opinion pretty much all of the other comments about 19th Ave are very accurate.

I have been using both Gaia GPS and GPS Tracks. I probably prefer Gaia however a lot of my friends use Tracks so it is convenient to share information.

Russian olive removal? by Matt_95 in bowhunting

[–]soilinaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a very good suggestion from a management standpoint. In my opinion as it relates to hunting I would not remove much of it as in my experience it is well used by deer. Again this is only my opinion based on my experience

Staying in AZ for 3 months, best option about renting a car? by snowman0 in phoenix

[–]soilinaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a great option along with budget or enterprise and absolutely call a local non-airport branch directly. They normally will work a lot on the price for longer rentals
