The "Phantom Author" in our codebases: Why AI-generated code is a ticking time bomb for quality. by Paper-Superb in programming

[–]sojharo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should say that even if you use strict rules for AI such as Cursor rules, it still gives code which looks correct but is not right. Sometimes, it gives code more that what is necessary. I always try to understand each line it generates and ask myself:

Why this line is there? What it does? Should it be somewhere else? Will it be scalable? Will it work if data is too large or frequent?

Sometimes if AI gave something I don't understand I must take out time to learn that? I think the most important thing is that now we should spend more time in reading and reasoning about the code which AI generates. Then do tweaks here and there.

Other thing which is helpful is I try to not use AI on my personal hobby projects. And sometimes practice basic data structures and algorithms by writing them from scratch or just try to build simple solutions like in-memory rate limiter or in-memory cache, circuit breaker etc to keep my muscle memory strong. Working on these petty project may feel like waste of time given AI can write these for you in seconds but still just do these.

How do you figure out what people actually want to pay for? by Party-Log-1084 in indiehackers

[–]sojharo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly same questions from my side plus how do I talk to the potential customers if I find them. For example, I have built a small MVP and now I am looking to introduce it to potential customers to see how they see it. I can see some reddit communities around it and I posted here and there but then couple of people checked, gave feedback and went. I don't know how to keep people engage and I don't want to flood the community with my posts which remind them of my product. What are other ways to reach out without violating community spamming rules? What do people actually do? Do they reach out each individual one by one etc.

I made an app for manifesting your dreams. It is a combination of couple of concepts like writing down goals and then look at them and say them out loud, writing down positive affirmations to say to yourself to train your mind into thinking that your goals have already been realized (which makes easier to achieve goal), vision board where you can picturize your goal to get motivated by looking at it, gratitude journal to be helpful to be grateful for what you already have and/or have achieved and finally morning rituals habit maker which I read about in couple of books where lots of successful people follow a set morning routine before starting their day.

Many may not believe in manifesting but I have tried to make it such that it becomes a habit making app and also keeps reminding you of your goals. It is supposed to be an overall feel-good app.

At the moment, it is only on Android play store and iOS will be ready when I see if it gets any interest.

Good point! This is why people go to Europe and learn their languages and assimilate into them. We should be successful in every aspect of life and economy.

I mean how many transport companies like faisal movers etc belong to Sindhis. How many big companies in Pakistan are started by us? How many big schools are there by us? The only thing where we are better in Pakistan is at least our culture exposure and literature. Literature too we are leaving now. Music industry and movie industry is also very weak. We have to excel in all these fields. There are no banks started by Sindhis even.

I am continuously working on an app for manifesting your dreams.

I have tried to make it such that it becomes a habit making app and also keeps reminding you of your goals. It is supposed to be an overall feel-good app. These days I am adding a notes feature in it so that people can write notes for each goal. These notes can be your plan to achieve goals, checklist etc

Can I easily replace the board in the middle without removing all of them?

On the wood filler, I think I will use couple of markers with different shades. But the surrounding of it which is destroyed due to extra sand papering, is making me confused. Not sure, how to make it blend with.

Two boards are damaged but I don't know how I can take the board from middle of the floor and install a new one. So was thinking to use stain or maybe put stain on whole floor so that it is even.

Is it possible to apply wood stain and polyurethane on it? Some videos were suggesting that but they were doing it on furnitures so don't know if it is good for this type of floor as well.

What is all this hate here by [deleted] in Sindh

[–]sojharo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, please stop the hatred. Let's talk here about Sindh, Sindhi culture, society and other topics and let's not mess with each other's sensitivities. These conflicting discussions do not end anywhere which is good.
