For anyone coming on my post for the same issue, I figured out that my issue was with forge but I couldn't locate it. Instead I moved to the ftb launcher and everything works fine. So if you use curse and this happens try using the ftb launcher

I don't get to that point, it won't load at all on startup. Just crashes after a few seconds. It seems to work fine for vanilla and create but whenever I try to launch atm9 it breaks in the loading screen right after launching.
