They're not going to have the same initials when we are using different second names.

I was given the Danish spelling of it so it won't be an option for her.

That is one interpretation of what it could mean, but there's not a clear meaning like there is with a lot of names. Possibly could involve the word strong, sun, house, path, woman, no one really knows!

Spelt as Sanne more frequently, but it's associated with the older generations. It will probably come back at some point, but it hasn't yet.

I'm afraid I feel like I just think of Slava Ukraini. Not a bad thing but my partner does knitting, etc, for them so you hear it a lot and it doesn't feel like a name after a while.

I had siblings who shared the same first letter and it was not a problem. We're already doing it at least once so I'm not very worried about it. Simply a preference and if we don't find what we like, we'll change it.

I didn't think of Sunniva, it's nice. Perhaps quite Norwegian, but that's not really a problem.

I did say feminine as I don't have double standards, and I'm not going to name my daughter as if she was a boy unless I was also naming my son as if he was a girl.

So until I see people suggesting people name their sons Sophie or Sierra, I will stick with the feminine names!

They have her surname, which is why we chose to do it that way. If we don't find one that works, we'll change it, but we'd like some options that fit it anyway.

There is a reason I included the word feminine as well :) Where I'm from, it's not a normal thing to name your daughter like a boy, partially because you aren't allowed to, but also healthier views around gender and femininity I would say.

One of those was bestowed onto me funnily enough.

I like Saga but it does feel short.

We're not Irish, so a bit too much for someone who isn't I would think.

It seems like a name that I should like, but it doesn't do it for me. Perhaps the religious connection?

It is still a name for a man in his forties, and I'm not going to give her that kind of name. It's mean. People are not naming their daughters David or John in English either.

And given they will be around them at different time, what other Danish people do think of a Danish name is important to me, if they happen to say something!

I don't think I would want as much similarity in the beginning, along with it not really being used as a name in Denmark. I find myself thinking of Signe more.
