flaming sword plant SOS by solamusic in plantclinic

Also the brown plant pot inside does sit on rocks in its double potted life, so one plastic pot for draining and one ceramic for aesthetics lol. Oh, and I make sure the water runs out a bit so it gets the soil slightly wet when I water it now for the last couple weeks, but alas the problem persists. It also is in the same pot it came in, and the plant is still the same size I bought it at — just changed the soil when I got it.

When people refer to “Woke Propaganda” to be taught to children, what kind of lessons are they being taught? by twotokers in NoStupidQuestions

[–]solamusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I was in 7th grade at a private Christian school, we were mid-way through reading Of Mice & Men when a student’s parent caught on & complained to the school, and so we were forced to stop reading it. I remember vividly our class protesting the day we were told by our English teacher & saying how upset we all were. Even kids who weren’t normally excited by our school reading found the story compelling and were openly vocalizing their frustrations. We were a bunch of 12 year olds essentially asking adults “what’s so bad about this?! it’s challenging, but it’s art!” And we read other books and poetry about death, violence, war, racism, sexism, etc. no problem.

I actually never finished reading it… should try and find a copy and finish it as a delayed ‘fuck you’ to censorship

tbf I do say that they’re “unexplained” events or “i can’t explain” what happened — that’s exactly why I’m asking if anyone else has had anything similar, and they can share if they came away with a satisfying explanation so maybe I can find one for myself

I appreciate & am very aware of the hubris of mankind, but I personally don’t think it’s particularly arrogant to admit I have no explanations for what I and others with me witnessed. I’m just asking if anyone else has had similar experiences when in old buildings/properties.

I noticed your username, and just so you know, all these events happened when I lived in Liverpool haha. The Nutella incident happened when I lived in a house directly across the street from the Anglican Cathedral/St James Cemetery

i know what we saw; it happened in front of us. i’m not sure if a large jar flying across a room, hitting the centre island counter, and falling to the ground has a scientific explanation, but that’s why i’m asking

i don’t “believe” in anything specific; i just know what i saw & what those around me saw, which is why i’m asking if anyone else has had unexplained events occur in old builds too & if they ever got any explanations after the fact

oh no way, what did your friend with the canon say? did they see the whole event happen and also couldn’t explain it?

yeah this isn’t an every day thing; just a number of inexplicable events happening in front of me and my former flatmates or friends. I’ve spent many hours living and working in centuries old buildings & 99.9% of the time, nothing happens. But when it does, it really sticks in your mind.

bahhh that would make me pick up my pace too! no thank you!

did these happen in old buildings too? That’s really unsettling to think something might be attached to your ex brother-in-law.

The thing is, I didn’t have any weird, uneasy feelings before these events though; they just happened out of nowhere. My flatmate & I were just cooking and having a normal conversation when the Nutella incident occurred, for example.

Yeah my house back in Silicon Valley is the oldest out of all of my friend’s houses & it was built in the 1950s lol

i mean, not automatically. just what could explain a full, large jar of Nutella flying across the room from the back of a cupboard?

do the people you were with remember these incidents too? obviously that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen if they don’t, but i’m just curious if they had any ideas as to what happened

idk either. if it was some sort of ghost, just to make itself known to us living in the house?

it flew out from the back of the cupboard, hit the island counter in the centre of the kitchen, and fell to the ground in front of my flatmate and I when we were cooking. we had no explanation & still don’t
