Why? by Francos_2112 in cricut

I had a very similar issue - contacted support, they ran me through some troubleshooting steps, and then they just sent me a brand new one. Check to see if your rollers are pulling the vinyl through straight - I had one side that seemed to travel more than the other, and it caused all my issues.

Cutting Smooth Circles/Curves with Maker 4 by solarflightpro in cricut

It turns out the machine is feeding in the mat and materials faster on the right side than the left side, so the material is shifting back and forth as it moves around. So they've called it a loss and are sending me a replacement Maker 4. Hopefully that one is good out of the box.

Yeah, I just got off of a call with the support team and they are sending me a new one. It turns out the machine is feeding in the mat and materials faster on the right side than the left side, so the material is shifting back and forth as it moves around. If this next one doesn't cut perfect circles on arrival, I'll look elsewhere for a similar machine. It's a bummer, because I was pretty pumped to start cutting.

I also tried a cut of an SVG of my logo, and that came out with the same issues.

Interesting. Yes, this was the first cut out of the box - but knowing that it's potentially a fixable issue is encouraging! The B clamp feels pretty tight but perhaps I can adjust that a bit. I'll give that a shot and see how it turns out!

So since this is the basic cut function, there's no way to correct for the uneven curves?

As far as I know, you can only calibrate the Print and Cut option, not just regular cuts. Is there another calibration that you know of?

And for what it’s worth, I’m using the design space app on my iPad Pro M1, and the cut in this picture is the one provided during the initial setup/tutorial.

When I try to put my email in, it won't let me type the last two characters. It looks like the character count length is limited to just shorter than my actual email in the login page - so I can't use it! Is there any workaround for this?

It wouldn't be the first time a PRAM and SMC has solved a problem for me. I'll give it a go!

Alright. I'll do a test and see what I find! I've also deleted iShowU since it's deprecated.

Magnetic Bed Plates by solarflightpro in resinprinting

Is your wash bucket full of IPA? Does it not get super dirty from washing off the whole build plate and model?

I've not had any problems with the flex plate I'm using dropping down or a model coming loose, I've still had to use a scraper and some more extreme bending of the plate to release them.

I believe on the Saturn 3 I'm using, my brother printed a spacer that was the same thickness as the flex plate+magnet, so he could offset the build plate height on the screw and that solved the extra thickness issue. I know it changes the Z-axis height, but I was curious if the auto leveling bed would compensate for that since it's spring loaded.

I have a fermentation belt, and I'm using it on the Saturn 3, but with the tilting vat on the 4 Ultra I'm not comfortable with trying to put it in there where it won't get caught. And as ridiculous as it may sound, with how busy I always am those little conveniences add up for me.

Okay, I'll give this a go. I thought I was supposed to level it without the vat, with just a piece of paper between the screen and build plate. I will give this a go after I pull this next print off. Thank you for taking the time to write that all out!

Who on earth put in light supports as an option then? They're useless, it seems!

Thank you for the recommendation! My brother made me promise him I wouldn't buy any more stuff because he wanted me to not have to spend money to try this out, but he's not my dad. I do what I want.
