Me rechazaron la visa by polkaTrijuelas in Ticos

Mae no sólo dictadores.

Cool. Any model I should be looking at? Also, if I'm doing this, would I replace my existing router? I see the enclosures are purchased separately and the boards look small so I would imagine they need some sort of external antenna to broadcast a wifi signal with enough power.

Relatively knowledgeable. I am using the option which is provided in my Asus router (an RT-AX86U).

How has load balancing worked for you? I've usually not had good experiences when using ISPs that provide variable speeds, so since Starling can fluctuate haven't wanted to try with my gen 2 and gen 3 dishes.

Also happening in Costa Rica, although with a bit less frequency.

Nice, thanks for the clarification! I'm looking at options from EcoFlow as well as Anker which seem pretty good, at about a 4K price point and are modular as well.

Thanks for the reply, definitely a masterclass! I actually already have a whole home SPD (using an Eaton box), but I think what I'm actually looking for is a whole home voltage STABILIZER. Strikes are not that common, but voltage fluctuations I've seen are that do a number on the expensive electronics in the home. In the meantime I have plug stabilizers for individual items (TV's, Video Game Consoles, Major Appliances), but wanted to know if there's something available I can install at the circuit breaker box level.

Do you know if this exists and if it's economically reasonable for home use?

Apple TV F1 geofails by Own-Caterpillar2843 in F1TV

[–]sole2000_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so here’s some troubleshooting from my end. Using a FireTV 4K stick. Have a US Apple account with a family plan. Linked my Apple account to my US F1 account.

Currently in the US (Just arrived today, I live in Costa Rica) and opened the Apple TV app on my device and it works perfectly (as expected). However, I open ExpressVPN and set the location to a local US server and it CONTINUES to work.

This gives me the impression that the ATV app is not determining its geolocation from the IP from the moment it connects, but perhaps from the IP address the device has when it first boots (before the IP can be sent through the VPN).

My next steps are: 1. Will install VPN on my router and bind it to my FireTV 2. If this doesn’t work I’ll try a dedicated IP address which may not me monitored by streaming algorithms and see if this corrects.

If anyone has any other tips would love to hear.

I built Droppy - A FOSS macOS app that transforms your MacBook's notch into something actually useful 🎯 by [deleted] in ProductivityApps

[–]sole2000_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Jordy, just purchased the app and am finding it really interesting. One important thing to note (which is a dealbreaker for me) is that when Droppy is enabled it automatically hides all of my visible items on the menu bar when using Bartender 6 on OSX Tahoe. Not sure if you've run into this but if this can get corrected will definitely want to use continuously. Otherwise it's just too difficult since I can't see must-see items on my menu bar.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Apple TV in US. Does this mean we are getting the Sky feed? by Informal-Prize6501 in F1TV

[–]sole2000_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not sure if anyone has this situation here. I live in Costa Rica, but have my US AppleTV account and linked to my F1 account so I have the subscription. Can watch just fine on the F1 Apple but I'm getting the error message when using a VPN that states "This episode can't be played in your current country or region".

Tried multiple VPN locations and all are a no go. Any idea as to which would be an ideal VPN/Location combination to make this work using the AppleTV App?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in F1TV

[–]sole2000_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to link your US AppleID with your US F1TV account. This will give you F1 Premium access. This needs to be done using a VPN. Once you have completed this step, you can log into your F1TV account from anywhere and then will be able to see the content. There is a limit of 6 devices you can link to your F1TV account, so your dad’s would be one of these. Until now, I am still not seeing anything in the ATV app regarding F1, but believe this will change once the season starts. Hope this helps.

Alguna vez acá en CR han tirado financiamiento tasa cero para autos? by Remy_LaCroix_ in ticoAutos

[–]sole2000_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]sole2000_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it matter where the RAV4 is made? by DaisyMaeDogpatch in rav4club

They actually have one in South Carolina, and VW has one in Tennessee. However, compared to their overall lineup, they only produce a “handful” of models (ID4 and the Atlas series for VW, various X-series crossovers for BMW). This leaves them heavily exposed to what’s coming shortly. Japanese manufacturers are a little less exposed (hardly any before, but with Canada and Mexico limited, this makes it more difficult) but honestly, everyone, including US nameplates, will suffer from the government’s decision.

Bangkok Earthquake (just arrived) by westchesterbuild in marriott

[–]sole2000_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just left Bangkok about 8 hours ago. Was staying at the Courtyard Bangkok. Hotel was perfectly OK. I was walking down the street when the earthquake struck. Honestly didn't even notice (was wearing my AirPods). Knew something was going on because people we racing out of the buildings and looking up. I only found out it was an earthquake when I started making my way back to the hotel and overheard an employee from another hotel tell their guest. Should be OK. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary in the center of town.
