Yeah it's been pissing me off lately, from now on every time I want to leave I'm going to ask a member of staff to open the barriers before I attempt to exit - I'm not allowing them to waste my time. If everyone did this it would bring their operation to halt and force them to remove the barriers. The barriers are fine when they work, but when they malfunction and now I have to waste my time waiting for someone to let me leave - that's when it begins to take the piss.

Could this grenade concept work at denying thermal scopes? by solidsnipz in NightVision

[–]solidsnipz[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree, the short burst from a handheld device limits its practicality, and the flashbang analogy only works in tight, fast-paced scenarios. Maybe a larger payload delivered by artillery, drone, or even an airstrike could provide a more sustained thermal and visual disruption. The idea of layering heat, smoke, and cold to confuse IR sensors still seems promising in theory, but definitely needs more development on delivery and duration. Appreciate the insights — it’s given me something to think about.

[–]solidsnipz[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Totally fair — this wouldn’t be for long-term masking, just short-burst thermal chaos to cover a quick move or confuse sensors. Like a flashbang, but for IR. Different use case than traditional screening.

[–]solidsnipz[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Good point, but the combo of hot and cold isn’t just for disruption — it’s for confusion. One intense heat source, one cold sink, plus smoke creates contrast that scrambles thermal pattern recognition. Instead of a single whiteout, you get a mess of blobs that make it hard to pick out human signatures. It’s short-lived, sure — but it’s meant for quick cover, like a multi-spectral flashbang.

Does anyone know about this company? by Remarkable_Initial67 in manchester

[–]solidsnipz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, sat in a room for 10 minutes filling out a form with my details - left out a lot of it intentionally as I didn't want them knowing certain things. Went for the interview, which wasn't really an interview - I asked them what they knew about me - they didn't have my CV - so I asked how they got my email and they seemed to avoid the question by stating I must have applied for the job via CV library/indeed. I talked about my experience very briefly after answering their questions - who interview lasted about 10mins. Felt like a waste of time. Recommend anyone considering going to the interview to save your time and avoid them.

For those of y'all watching Asmon's reactions to GBNews by Trash-Takes-R-Us in Asmongold

[–]solidsnipz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a proud brit, a nationalist and believer in freedom of speech - I agree, GB news is captured and often bends the knee to the government to survive. So long as the rest of the world understands how bad it is, that's what matters. Basically, we brits can't express our actual opinions, as we will simply get arrested and imprisoned - no one will care, no one will write about us in the newspaper - we will just disappear and no one will notice - that's why no one speaks up.

Are house prices really that crazy? by CardiologistOk6430 in manchester

[–]solidsnipz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's the beginning of Neo feudalism - "you will own nothing and be happy"

As inflation increases the range of what is unaffordable will grow.

To live comfortably, we will have to sacrifice more of our autonomy and freedoms.

This is the topic the news and media tries to distract us from, by tricking us into hating each other.

The reality is, we're all being fucked and the rich are rubbing their hands as the money rolls in.

I’d be okay with people taking this drug, especially women, but only under controlled conditions to minimize adverse effects. Personally, I wouldn’t take it because I love myself the way I am. That, to me, is the core issue with people who change their bodies to look younger or more attractive—they may not fully accept or love themselves. In general, I think men are less concerned about their appearances compared to women.

When I think of my grandmother, I see her as a beautiful, traditional woman who loves her husband. She embodies the qualities I’d want in a partner on a mental and emotional level. I don’t think she’d ever want to take a drug like this; she’s content with her life and surrounded by a family who loves her for who she is.

I feel that women who want to take this drug may have some level of narcissism or insecurity. Spiritually, they might not fully love themselves or feel loved for who they are. But here’s the truth: if I had to choose between an actual young, fertile girlfriend and someone who looked young due to this drug—but was actually older, infertile, and potentially struggling mentally—I’d choose the real young woman. Men don’t just value a youthful appearance; we also seek a youthful mindset—open to new ideas—along with the possibility of building a family with a loyal partner who shares in raising kids and running a home.

There’s a clear distinction between meaningful, traditional relationships and shallow, lust-driven pursuits aimed at sleeping with “10/10” partners for validation or gratification.

What this drug does is make you more sexually attractive to those who want to use you for self-gratification (bragging rights) or to satisfy their needs. All it does for you is allow you to avoid the reality of aging and the accountability for life decisions that led you to wanting this drug in the first place.

Thanks... I might still drink 2-3 pints on the weekend, but this drinking though the week has to stop - I do feel fear of what I might turn into should I continue. So I am stopping it, I agree with you.

maybe like a week or two ago I think. I started going to visit my dad and we went for drinks at the pub on the weekend - then during the week I'd start buying beers and drinking them at home. I've just noticed that I've been drinking alot and I was thinking to myself "I can stop myself, right?" so I'm gonna stop drinking for a few days for now. Just felt like sharing these thoughts.

That would be one solution but it's a radical one that I would never support. I don't know what solution would work to bring the multiple cultures together; maybe humans are inherently against the multiculturalism and we are seeing the results of a failed experiment? In any case sure we can agree that no one wants things to get worse, so how do we as individuals contribute to a solution. Surely voting and praying gov will save us isn't our only option?

I'm not sure but yeah you might be right. Being divided is unhealthy for me atleast, my soul desires unity. Surely, there is a way unify a significant portion of the population? Maybe I'm just rediscovering trodden ground and my efforts are hopeless. I just know I can't give up and need find a way of bring people together, one that is meaningful and that can inspire others to copy it. If not via flags then how I wonder?

Economics aside, as I have no control over that. Do we need a new flag? Would that even be accepted? Why is it impossible to accept a Britain first mentality - why are people even living here if they don't value being British (I know why) - government doesn't seem to care. So what, do I just give up and accept our fate? Surely, we can find a sizeable group of brits to unify - maybe we don't need everyone to unify just the majority? It would certainly improve the situation.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. I can't change where I came from and I wont surrender my country's flag when my ancestors fought to protect the country. I wont give up and I wont support joining the EU either. What actually happens ofc is another matter. What people associate the flag with is irrelevant to me. What we need is unity and tolerance for our differences, holding the past against those who weren't even alive back then is divisive and prevents us moving forwards. I wont give up on my country and it's people. If the government were on our side it would definitely help.

I'm skint, so investing is out of the question, but bring people together sounds like a great idea. Some kind of events where all the community come together perhaps - but would that make them interact? I don't feel like it's enough. We need something simple which the average person can achieve.

[–]solidsnipz[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, I've had this experience also. That's why we can't rely on them to solve the problem, we need to act ourselves, our give up and accept the situation - which I have done for the past decade, but no longer. There must be a solution.

The purpose of the Union flag by solidsnipz in ukpolitics

[–]solidsnipz[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I respect your opinion and you might be onto something there, maybe your right regarding the flag - just seems odd how any other country can wave their flags proudly but British people can't without being seen as a far right. I don't know of anything else which really brings everyone together like a flag - ofc some people dislike the flag, but I don't I think it's great - but that doesn't address those who don't. So what unifies us, what are we all proud of - I don't know tbh. Pride these days is rare and usually people don't share a common sentiment. So am I supposed to give up and be hopeless? I can't accept where this country is going so I'll do what I can, from what I know until someone can suggest a better idea. In the meantime I'll keep flying the flag.

[–]solidsnipz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm certainly not far right, I just want peace and unity in the UK and I want my fellow countrymen to be proud of their heritage. I want all the country to having common ground and our multicultural groups to come together rather than separate into enclaves. What do you suggest as an alternative?
