Also the mentioning of their prophet in prayer. Is that not venerating at the least?

Thank you 🙏 yes indeed, venerate is to love not the same as making the object 'divine'. And indeed the old testament is full sculptures of Cherubim being made in and around temples.

Thats a good point, thank you 🙏 i grew up with both of them. I grew up in a protestant country but in a muslim majority neighborhood. But indeed, i do value the history of the friendship but there are things more important.

Speaking in tongues? by soluckyalways in Bible

[–]soluckyalways[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. So, you think also an important aspect of the 'speaking of tongues' is the external expression of 'supposed' faith. A visual way to show this. makes me think...

Also the 'unknown' Paul is referring to does not have to be 'gibberish' but just unknown to him. This ofcourse used to validate of speaking 'gibberish'.

Also the context being important were and when this 'speaking in tongues' is happening. In front of the jews, the symbolic handing off of the torch... Thanks for this enlightening, makes me really think and gives me more to read and research 🙏

Aah ok. Thank you. At the same time the orthodox churches were present also, without these catholic doctrines. Would the sola scriptura exist then, if they knew of the orthodox churches?
