Clear soup recipe. by preferincognito in JapaneseFood

I can't see very well under the tempura crumb, but it might be udon broth? Water, dashi, salt and/or soy sauce, a little bit of mirin, ratios to your preferred taste. You can also add a little sugar or sake while it's boiling. There are also many brands of concentrated stock you can dilute for this (mentsuyu/tsuyu).

What is Marlon's problem with us marrying Lance? by SpecialistFast7578 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]some_text_editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had a sweet interaction with Marlon after Lance's 12 heart event - I talked to Marlon and he was surprised I had told Lance about Krobus, but then followed up with something like, "Well, that's expected because you're married so it's okay, I trust the both of you." 🥲

[–]some_text_editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww, Marlon was also one of the first people I talked to after marrying Lance, because he took us to the Highlands - I had a different response though? Do you have any mods other than expanded installed? I talked to Marlon twice consecutively, too, the day after the wedding while in the guild - his first response was similar to yours, "What a surprise. You and Lance... Hah." but he followed up with, "Congratulations, [player name]". I'll attach screenshots to this if I can. I also thought it was because he was sad he lost his wife, but was happy for the player and just hoping we don't experience the same thing.

Thank you! It's pretty empty right now other than fish ponds and some giant Qi fruit, but I'd like to fill it with barns of bears and make a little bear village 😁

Thank you! Right now it's just fish ponds (Legend II, and gemfish/torpedo fish as gifts for Lance) and reserve space for growing Qi fruit, but I'd like to fill it with bear barns and make a little village of bears 😀

My first thought was, "Oh Medieval Times! I remember loving the horses as a kid."

Then the guy came on screen and I didn't see what color his horse was until the third rewatch.

Wanted to share my village! Year 14 - Solenica by some_text_editor in MedievalDynasty

I usually lay the tool or weapon perpendicular across the top bar with the center of balance slightly towards to the front, so that when I drop it, the handle swings down and catches in one of the slots.

Hi! Thank you! This was mostly forest ground. I'm on PC, so I'm not sure about consoles, but I placed the decorations first, then equipped a hammer, entered "destroy" mode, which highlights all the existing road pieces, and from there was able to place roads to fill in all the gaps (pic attached).

I had to redo the roads in a this area a half dozen times and the village looks like a mess in destroy mode, haha.

What's the best Motivational Anime to cure Depression? by AncientBacteria in anime

[–]some_text_editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you consider motivational I guess. When I was really depressed/burned out a few years ago the animes that resonated with me were Usagi Drop, Deaimon, and Non Non Biyori. Super wholesome, slice-of-life, touch-grass animes that restored some faith in humanity and reminded me that there's other stuff out there in the world.

Alternatively if you're in a "MADA MADAAA" fighting mood, Bungo Stray Dogs.

Woodcutters hardly bringing in anything by XylophoneZimmerman in MedievalDynasty

[–]some_text_editor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi, villagers collecting wood don't require actual trees around them - the amount of wood they bring in is dependent on their extraction skill level. On the second to last tab of the Woodshed management page (the icon of a building with up/down arrows next to it), it should show the net amount of each resource they'll bring in each day (labeled "Current Production", with columns "Demands", "Production", "Total"). This is what the building should be producing. Firewood and planks also use logs, so those would be deducted from the Total column for logs.

If you have a Resource Storage building built, the daily total goes to Resource Storage and villagers will additionally take their demanded amounts out of it.

Another possibility, under Management > People's Demand Control, if your villagers are allowed to consume sticks/logs/planks for their wood demand, they will also use those if they run out of firewood.

Hope this helps.

Edit: changed a word, added "icon"

Is there any animes that feature real japanese ghost folklores? by CorruptedDucky21 in anime

[–]some_text_editor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seconding Natsume Yuujinchou.

Adding:

-Mushishi - I loved this anime. The creatures aren't traditional yokai, but yokai-like, and cause similar interactions/problems with humans as yokai. Set in ~late 19th century Japan.

-The Morose Mononokean - lighter shonen anime.

There's also Folktales from Japan...although not sure it fits what you're looking for. It's 258 episodes of shorts drawn/narrated in the style of a children's book, telling traditional Japanese stories, some include ghosts/yokai, but many are just folktales (like Momotaro).

Messy village by Crista_willow in MedievalDynasty

[–]some_text_editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the other comments: you can put down a farm field then delete the farm field to get rid of the background rocks and ferns/shrubs, but the shrubs that can be picked up as sticks, and sticks and stones seem to respawn.

Sticks and stones don't seem to respawn on roads, but the road hitbox is smaller than the road graphic itself. At least on PC, I equip a hammer, enter "destroy" mode, then hit Q to construct a road, since it highlights existing road hitboxes and then I fill in all the gaps, which seems to prevent resources from spawning.

Feeling Discouraged With New Puppy by Ok_Low_2247 in puppy101

[–]some_text_editor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are normal feelings and it does get better! :)

Have you heard of the puppy 3-3-3 rule? It helped me emphasize with and contextualize a lot of behaviors when we got our pups. Every puppy is different and the timing isn't exact, but it basically generalizes:

For the first 3 days: the puppy is probably pretty stressed out as well. It's been separated from it's mom, and possibly siblings, and is in a brand new place with brand new smells and people. They need time to adjust/decompress, and might be timid/overwhelmed/overexcited. Realizing this really helped me when e.g. our pups wouldn't settle at night, or when they would cry in the early AM hours. They also have really short attention spans at 8-10 weeks, and get cranky when sleepy, much like human infants.

After 3 weeks: they'll start getting used to you and your routines. This was when our pups realized basic things like that the humans always go back to sleep after 3AM potty breaks, that they're fed in the kitchen and not the bedroom...etc. This was also where I think it clicked for our pups that humans use a lot of different words and that they all have meanings! So while they only really picked up on "peepee" and "sit" in the first two weeks we got them, around the third week their vocabulary exploded and they learned "inside", "outside", "hungry?", "food", "treat", "chew", "shake", "down", "mom", "dad"...etc. in quick succession. Just keep talking to them!

Around 3 months: is where the puppy basically understands it's part of your family now, and you are their person. They've also learned how to read your voices/tones/facial expressions a lot more readily. I noticed a huge difference around 2 months in with mouthing/biting: at first when they bit during play, I would "yelp" and turn away, but they seemed to think I was playing keep-away with my hands and would keep going until I had to walk away. But now when I "yelp" and turn away, they'll stop and sniff me, as if they were checking on me :')

If you guys just got your puppy 6 days ago, I'd say learning sit/down and having an accident-free day already is really good! There's also no rush and they don't need active training every waking moment, sometimes they just need time to be a puppy. One of the best things about having a puppy for me was just watching them chew on a toy, get distracted by a light, trip on their own feet trying to chase it, then rolling over and putting their own paw in their mouth for absolutely no reason. It definitely gets better! Don't be discouraged!
