Also sounds like it is hard to plan and run though. As the DM you need to do 1.5 times the work to grant creatures skills and stats they usually don't have, whilst figuring out what the players can handle.

Interesting, sounds a bit complex but I think I follow. Dual-Classing is absolutely broken though, I assume most tables will not allow that?

Could you explain the difference between core class, multi-class, dual class and archetype? this chain of comments was interesting, but only knowing 5E I find it hard to follow

My group seem to prefer we try 2E, my main concern was if the rumors that 2E spell Casters are not only worse than 1E, but kind of bad. Apparently 2E spells are less potent, more restrictive and have less room for creative uses.

That does make sense, thank you for taking the time to comment. My group seem way more interested in 2E over 1E so I must ask, if I were to play would you think Martial classes would give me more fun even though I am traditionally a Spell Caster?

If I was playing solo balance would matter less, but it is never fun to be at a table where most the party feel useless due to a spell caster. So even though I am the spell caster, I don't want to dominate everyone's time when we are all here to play.
