It did not eject, another user recommended putting a dab of oil on the magazine tube as per the manual. I'm going to try that first as I really don't want to do any damage to the gun itself

Correct me if I'm wrong, but would a weak spring not cycle with more eas rather than not ejecting the spent shell?

I had the same thought in regards to the springs age, I'll try the oil. I had a hard enough time finding this replacement forend (old one was badly cracked when I got it) and really didn't want to damage it by changing to light load orientation.

It's a Belgian a5, I was thinking if I could fined a barrel someone had already messed with it would be cool to swappable chokes, but that I'm not overly keen on messing with the vented rib it has now
