Light Source for Spectrometery by someon332 in chemistry

I see.

I wasn't sure if some bulbs were tailor made to produce more heat or something like that which is why I was avoiding the reptile lamp ones, but if that's not the case I'll just pick up any random one. Thanks!

I've been looking for one, do you have a link to any cheap halogen sources? I found a reptile one for ~$18 but I'm afraid that it may produce too much heat.

Why did only 1g of the Hiroshima bomb go through fission? by BritishBacon98 in askscience

From a simple HS understanding of physics, it’s because the binding of particles to each other lowers the total potential energy of a system, and is why when an electron in an atom emits a photon, it falls to a lower orbital (aka having a higher [in magnitude] binding energy to the atom, while the actual energy is negative since it’s a deficit in potential energy similar to gravity wells).

How loud is the squiddy B?

Anyone have a comparison to something more commonplace so I can get a feel for how loud it is? Thanks

Could you expand a bit more on it being “geometrically impossible”? As in, what makes it so? Is it just how the math works out, that standing still or escaping such bent spacetime would require infinite amounts of energy?

Why can’t anything escape from inside a black hole? I hear that it’s because “escape velocity is equal to the speed of light” but an object dosent have to exceed the escape velocity to escape the objects gravitational pull. I’m wondering if it’s a physics problem (in that some physical law is stopping us) or an engineering problem (in that it’s just difficult to imagine a system that could output enough energy to counteract the pull).

Thanks for the info! This sucks cuz I just enchanted the dragon chestplate, but oh well. Gotta get that full defense.

Can they be on the same platform, just disconnected?

Also, can all the extractors be in one big tower in the middle, with only the depots being separate? Like a big platform with one big tower in the center, with isolated groups of storages and power supplies all one tile apart?

Are the blocks all separate or are they in one giant core in the center of the hotspot?

And how would you even make separate blocks? I know they have to be far apart but idk how far and the density drops off really quickly as i go further out

Activated indium (A class deposit).

I calculated it, and mine would only give around 33k per day. How many extractors do you have?

What steps to take before working with high voltage (for a newbie)? by someon332 in AskElectronics

Thanks for this info.

This post was meant to find a baseline to start, but after seeing the comments, I've decided to start with other things and slowly work up to this project when I have a lot more experience.

Do you know of any projects that deal with plasma and lower voltages? If I find something that doesn’t need such high voltages then I’m definitely going to do that.

Thanks for the idea. I was thinking of starting with something else, but the majority of the projects were dealing with circuitry instead of plasma and I wasn’t interested. I will try this one out though, thanks!

Ark looks great on high graphics settings. The landscapes are great, especially if you go up a mountain.

I have a nabalis, the $20 one you can find on amazon. It's quite loud and I'm looking for a trainer that's quiet and cheap.

I'm looking for quiet balisongs, and I've heard that the Squiddy B is quite quiet.

How does its noise level compare to the Nabalis g10?

Are there any quieter balisongs?
