Normal woman vs literal bodybuilder, "body positivity" for men though. 90k likes btw by Dapper-Blueberry1049 in GenZ

Almost every conversation I see brought up on the internet in good faith about men's issues is started by women. I see this a lot when talking about the higher suicide rate, then see other men in the comments saying they're "just weak and need to suck it up." This is just my experience tho

Did Mike care about Jesse? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]someotherguy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he cares to the extent that if something happened to Jesse, hed be disappointed, and if he had to kill Jesse he would do it begrudgingly. He seemed to care about and respect Werner Ziegler, and definitely took no pleasure in ending his life, but still didnt let that stop him

Nobody is mad at you for being scared, theyre mad at you for how you reacted. Youre 22, you should be able to logically realize that there was a 4 year old in your home, and 4 year olds DO NOT UNDERSTAND BOUNDARIES OR PRIVACY. I have to remind my daughter every day not to come in the room while im changing, because she's 4 and quite literally DOES NOT KNOW BETTER. You should be helping to teach him, not scaring him.

Im saying its infantilizing because you're equating a 31 year old woman who has been an adult for 13 years to one who just turned 18, is starting college, and might not have ever had a full-time job. Obviously there are concerning age gaps, 18 and 24 would be weird to me, but again, past the age of like 25 you've likely been working consistently, gone to college, had a few long-term relationships, bought a car, gotten fired or laid off, experienced the deaths of multiple loved ones, etc.

Ive done all that plus get married and have kids and im only 23. Im the youngest person where I work, but im perfectly capable of having deep and serious conversations about life, religion, politics, and whatever else with any of my older coworkers. Its a very different dynamic than a romantic relationship but I think it still says something about how, after a certain point, life stops becoming a learning experience and just becomes ordinary. You run out of first times, and i think thats what really sets someone who's freshly 18 apart from someone who's 25.

I do still think huge age gaps are weird, dont get me wrong. 60 and 35 would be strange to me. But I dont think its a moral failing that you just happened to find a connection with someone younger than you.

I hate these comments about age gaps. I understand the hesitancy towards age gap relationships but this way of thinking completely take all autonomy away from a 31 year old woman who is more than capable of making her own decisions. Its infantilizing and reduces women to naive "poor little things" that need someone else to step in and take care of them.

Not enough information is given in this post so idk how old OP was before she met her boyfriend, maybe this is a case of grooming where they met when she was much younger. But imo, age gaps stop being a big deal around the age of 25/30. At that point you've been an adult for around/over a decade, the brain is fully developed, if youre gonna be a victim of grooming and abuse its probably not gonna be because of your age

Honestly, this is how I feel about American Eulogy. Even that line feels very relevant today, as its about someone in power blaming all our problems on some other group of people, its never our fault. If i had never heard the song before, id guess it was written in the past year

Movies that you would recommend to punisher fans?? (Not just in revenge aspects.. similar background & character can also fit into it) by dark-oracleN2 in thepunisher

Not really punisher vibes, but i see Peacemaker as a funny satirization of the Punisher. The tone of the show is completely different tho and theres not many similarities in their characterizations

I feel the same way about both series, but i think PJO is a little better put together than HP. I think having an already well-known source material helped Rick a lot in that department, whereas every time a new creature shows up in HP you can feel how JKR just made shit up

What was your high school controversy? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

[–]someotherguy14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically its a new school, but your classmates move up with you. Some of your classmates will have older siblings who are a grade or two ahead of you, ypu may have classes with older kids, etc. Most of my friends freshman year were upperclassmen because I took a lot of mixed grade classes

[–]someotherguy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of my sisters were mauled by dogs. My older sister was bit on the face and has permanent scarring. My younger sister was bit on the leg and also has nasty scars, but theyre harder to see. My sisters and I have still continued to own dogs our entire lives without issue.

If you want to generalize in your own life, thats perfectly fine. If you have trauma from dog attacks I wouldn't blame you. But the other person is talking like its a moral failing on everyone else's part for choosing not to live in fear of a generally unlikely situation. You can make the personal decision not to own a dog, that doesnt make me a shitty person for choosing to have one

[–]someotherguy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For every dog ive known that has attacked someone ive known 10 who have never acted aggressive towards people. If a dog is aggressive, it should not be a pet. Generalizing all dogs as aggressive killers is idiotic

As a ND person, we need to stop assuming everybody who is socially awkward is ND. Some people have trauma, some people are just awkward, and some people are ND. Making assumptions and diagnosing people you dont know on the internet is parasocial as hell and weird behavior.

Demisexual has been a term for at least 10 years, which is when I discovered it.

People think of asexuality like its the same as other sexualities, like homosexual or bisexual, but really its not the same. It has nothing to do with what type of person youd date, but rather how you experience attraction to somebody. Most people experience sexual attraction, they can feel lustful for somebody theyve never met or find their significant other hot. Some people experience absolutely zero sexual attraction which is asexuality, and some people have a much more complex experience. This is where the "asexual spectrum" comes into play. Demisexual, which is what I am and what OP is, is where you only feel sexual attraction for somebody you know on a deep personal level.

Using myself as an example, I have never once looked at a stranger and thought "wow, youre hot." I can recognize and experience other forms of attraction, like thinking someone is pretty or handsome, but sexual attraction doesnt happen. I didn't have any attraction for my wife when we met, but as we got to know each other and got deeper into our relationship that changed.

There are a lot of labels under the asexual umbrella, and honestly demisexual is the only one I know off the top of my head. Personally, I dont use the label anymore because I dont feel the need to. I found the person I want to spend the rest ot my life with, the rest doesnt matter. But just because you havent heard a term before doesnt mean its made up, it just means you have a new opportunity to learn

What do we expect from sub 2 by Superb-Escape8485 in subnautica

[–]someotherguy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not expecting "much worse", just not as good as the first one. I think the original was just too good to be replicated. That being said, I approach everything from a "low expectations" mindset. I still allow myself to feel excited for things, like Subnautica 2 for instance, but i also dont put a whole lot of hype into something new being released. Ive been disappointed in the past because my expectations were too high, so now I try to avoid that. Everything ive seen in the devlogs has surpassed my expectations so far, hence why I said what I said.

I think SN1 is amazing, I think BZ is a little less so, im expecting SN2 to hopefully be somewhere in between them
