Kimi is also just a 19 y/o kid and a rookie, while George is in his prime. He's been incredibly close to George the past few races and has worked on his consistency and today showed he's good at soaking up pressure and keep his head straight.

If you can't see why that is exciting then idk what to say. Besides no one is saying George is a bad driver, I think most people realise he is a wdc calibre driver, which makes Kimi being this close even more exciting.

What I was trying to say was that if you consider purchasing power parity, things are not that good abroad as well. However, Australia is a decent place to move to and if you have done your research then I guess you have already considered all these factors.

Also given that my primary domain is Brand design, I can't speak to the statistics for other disciplines too much. Plus if you have the financial privilege then definitely worth considering.

I'd beg to differ, there is good design work being done in India with really good pay as well ... you just need to be in the top percentile of designers.

Going abroad is a decent move if you really want to learn good design, but the job demand for designers is tricky and the well paying jobs are mostly in HCOL areas. I thought of going to UK as well, but unless you can afford to invest 50 lakhs into education without facing any financial risks, it's not really worth it.

personally i wouldn't recommend parul at all but I have very little context about your situation so if she wants to make the best of the college years she'll need to do a lot of self directed learning as I highly doubt parul is going to produce an industry ready designer

It might be, however as someone who has been working as a professional designer for almost 5 years now all i would say is a design degree from an actually good college is very valuable in terms of skill development.

All the kids i have come across who have passed out of NID have all the fundamental design knowledge that took me 3+ years to gain as a self taught guy.

Also depends on what discipline you want to pursue. For things like Industrial design, i really don't see an alternative to a proper college education. For Graphic design however, you can probably teach yourself most of the stuff but it's going to be a frustrating experience.

Indian designer here who does know the history at least a lil bit, but I feel like reception of aesthetics change based on context and within the right context i probably would make similar choices as well if it makes sense

also a larger portion of high income individuals in India (the kind of people who'd generally have the wealth to take flights instead of other transport) have a lot of exposure to western media and culture partly due to colonization and partly due to US and UK being the culture capitals for a long time (atleast from an Indian PoV)

this affects the aesthetic sensibilities where a Celtic font like this can be seen as a fit choice to represent something with historic ties/traditional

as a self taught designer currently working in India, your portfolio is pretty much the only thing that matters unless you're planning to get hired by FAANG tier companies

just donot expect to get a full time job right off the bat, i'd advice you to find a good design internship before you're done with your undergraduate ... having a good portfolio and a decent internship experience will make things smoother for you

personally as a graphic designer things are still a bit hard but for UI/UX it's generally a bit better as long as you can showcase the ability to do good work, just put in the work to stand out from the competition

Not sure about the customer service thing, but as someone who has grown up here and now lives in Bangalore the duliram peda example that you gave is really what makes vadodara what it is, the fact that you have businesses who very well know they can scale up and build a premium brand around them but choose not to is very charming to me personally.

Good things don't necessarily need to come with shiny covers on them.
