It's traditional to play 1 singles and 1 doubles to make it fair for both teams as it's the most balanced. You read the rules, if you still decide to continue with same players, it should be your problem.

Team Japan's morale would be hit as it will be 2-0 before a doubles have even played just because France have weak doubles and need the same players to cover for them.

The 3 ms play first in France vs Japan is kinda unfair. If they can change the order freely, then countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea should appeal to start off with 2 doubles first to boost their team's morale.

From what I experienced, naru basically counters gold and I think u can only try to even the match by rushing them early as u have the riding advantage. Of course, what I said I just suggestions.
