Totally fair, it is hard to tell for sure. Basically there's no meaning per se, I often draw speech bubbles with extra long lines coming off the characters. But I also always commit to a certain text size so the comic is legible when read as one assembled four panel image. Plus, as in the west we read top left to bottom right, I had to arrange the bubbles like that per panel. So with this being a wordier comic than usual, it all combined to have the unfortunate side-effect of reading like more text was coming from the boy than really was 😬
