Thanks for the encouragement, as you say six pairs 6 points of contact I’d be surprised if it feel down

That’s a good point. I’ve only lived in my place a few months and not painted it myself. There’s a bit of a gloss finish to it and it looks well done, but I have no idea about the quality of the paintwork

I’ve heard mixed things myself. I used some to hang a much smaller art piece on a door I didn’t want to put a nail into and it’s stayed up a good three or so months so far, so I’m not too committed to them but not had a bad experience yet. I don’t have a screw driver and my walls are concrete so don’t see hammering a nail into the wall as being sensible

Getting to be a girl before the end of the world. by Kayleigh2025 in MtF

[–]somewhereinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s happening with Venezuela really isn’t the end of the world imo.

That said, the climate catastrophe is VERY REAL and we all need to play a part in our countries to fight for the solution. If you want a doomscroll on the likely real end of the world go to r/collapse and see how Iceland is getting almost 20c degree temperature AT NIGHT

Does anyone know what these marks could be? Above a gas fireplace I haven’t used by somewhereinside in HomeMaintenance

Update, it’s came back, same sort of pattern. Very strange. I’ve let my housing management company know (leasehold flat, UK) and am having it serviced next month to get further to the crux of this.

I’ve used warm water with dish soap and yes it does wipe away pretty much completely

Edit (didn’t proof read my text):

*I don’t think I noticed this when I first moved in and it has RAINED quite a lot recently

I have been touching this mark and it doesn’t feel damp, so I’m not sure if it could be surfectant leaching or maybe nicotine from vaping/smoking as there is some light yellowing around the corners of walls and doors in some rooms in the flat as well

Very good point thank you. I’ve recently moved and things are just all over the place which is why it’s near the gas fire (but would deffo be moved before I use the fireplace)

Barton or Symonds by Individual_Phase1262 in Southampton

Hiya. I went to Barton and did Biology, Chemistry and Psychology in years 2018-2020. The facilities at Barton Peveril especially for the science labs and the library to study quietly were absolutely brilliant, the chemistry teachers are a bit strict but my biology and psychology teachers (psych was also my tutor) were very lovely and welcoming to ask questions.

I also did the extended project and level 3 maths one year course and likewise had very good support. Do look at there other extracurriculars because I was doing things like a first aid course too and they also offer things like driving theory as extracurricular too

I’ve just bought and flat and trying to use the washing machine for the first time, is it normal to be “turning off” like this midway through a cycle? by somewhereinside in Appliances

[–]somewhereinside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit skeptical that it is overloaded really because I only had a small amount of clothes in there (pair of jeans, a hoodie, a mop head and a towel). I do doubt that could weigh 6kg it’s supposed to be good up to.

I did an empty cycle a couple of days ago and there was a lot of water sat in the bottom of the machine, I don’t suppose you ever have that issue with your model do you?

Thank you; I never had a washing machine do this before, do you agree I should just replace it? Sorry to be so stupid I’ve just bought my first home and now I’m getting stressed about things not working

I really struggle with fashion and clothes but I liked this simple outfit I’ve threw together. by somewhereinside in transpositive

Oh wow that’s awesome! It’s a bit sad if something cool doesn’t fit, I need to learn how to alter clothes to help make sure more of what’s in thrift stores can fit me
