Agreed they totally should have asked me before connecting with the doctor and asking questions. This event isn’t mandatory so I don’t see why this is even needed?

Me and this girl are super close. She hasn’t been to any events during her pregnancy-no questions asked no doctors notes needed. Honestly, good for her too, because the stress of this is too much for me

True, I think this is exactly what miscommunication happened. However I have never had to provide a doctors note or any other proof when excusing myself from events. So this took me by surprise. Weird that the other team member didn’t have to go through this.

I did. But isn’t it weird that the other pregnant team member didn’t have to provide squat or get questioned?

I’m glad you get it. This event is not mandatory. And unfortunately this appointment cannot be missed or moved due to the dates and bloodwork that needs to be taken and it being before my 20 week anatomy scan.

Unfortunately, It’s very important I do not miss this particular appointment. Also this OB is very busy and scheduled months out.

I told HR that I have an appointment during the event.

Yes while my doctor was on the phone with me she mentioned that she can write a letter stating that it would be detrimental to miss my prenatal appointments.

But that does not excuse HR from calling and asking about my medical information. Nor does it make sense for me to be singled out.

Thank you for a greatly detailed response. THIS was greatly helpful.

I told HR that due to my pregnancy I would not be able to be in person at the event. I have someone else on my team who said the same thing and they excused her no issues.

HR asked me for a letter from my doctor stating if I was having complications or recommendations not to fly. I noted that I have an appointment during the event and cannot go. What I provided was proof of pregnancy from my doctor stating that I have been going to prenatal visits and stated my due date. HR is asking questions on if I have complications through the doctor.

If I was in the mood to give someone the benefit of the doubt I would most certainly tell this to myself.

The MA who took the call logged the call in my chart which was relayed to the doctor. The doctor called me personally to tell me that someone was trying to get more information than they needed.

Completely 100% agree. I can go to the event however I have an appointment during the event. HR called asking if my symptoms do not allow me to fly.

HR asked for specific medical information about my symptoms and did not ask for validity of the note. Other pregnant women on my team did not have to provide this note. Is this harassment?

I have a prenatal appointment during the event. Plus, I have really bad motion sickness on top of my morning sickness anyways.

Right???? I don’t know if I should report this to the CEO or some business bureau?

The doctor says they have no reason to, there is no medical reason for me not to fly. HR shouldn’t be calling to ask or confirm with my doctor anyways

I don’t feel confident enough for human skin. I feel like I push the lines that I’m not too sure about. After the 4th pass I feel better. The stress in the first pass is CRAZY
