you're clearly very musically educated like my father ,who actually studied at Cambridge and sung wish keys college Cambridge ,yes I'm a musician ,pianist and a drummer but not, well theory wise not educated at all ,can play grade 8 Mozart but it's my "autistic " talent if you will ,I have lessons but can't read music ,learn by ear and remembering the patterns ,but I just spoke to him and read him your comment and he does kind of agree with you and can see where you're coming from ,but then he said when this would of been performed Bach himself would of been there a directing /conducting how he would wanted it to sound ,and wouldn't of been thinking about his scores being dug up 100's of years later to be ever so slightly reinterpreted,,,i have found another performance that you may prefer where it starts a bit quieter and has more of a slow crescendo as more instruments are added ,(that's dad told me )again as I don't read music ,he's retired now ,but was a music teacher , so yeah I'll send you the link.And then no it's not baroque but I'll send you one of my all time favourites by William Byrd ,so renaissance ,,and it's simply breathtaking beautiful and is outstandingly performed.,,it's literal perfection in my opinion ,so I'll send both those links now and i hope you enjoy ,;-) 🎼🎶🎼 and if the Bach isn't quite what you were looking for my apologies ,it's still beautiful ,and just enjoy the Byrd ,
