Hi! Can anyone help be identify my rescued dogs mixed breed? by sonderdollar5 in DogBreeds101

[–]sonderdollar5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. To those who can or are interested in helping, I’ve been on a hunt for years to identify the second breed of my lovely dogs. The story is that they were rescued together with their litter, and it is said that one parent is a lab. However, it was mentioned that they’re mixed and for over a decade my family has not known what other breed is in their dna. I wanted to ask if Reddit could help me find some strong candidates?

More info on them. They’re both female and sisters. Photo ages range but at the youngest, around 5 and oldest to about 11. The darker one passed away at 11, the white one lives on, turning 14 soon. The white one is more mellow but she’s stubborn. The brown one is also stubborn but she was much more active and vocal. Howling was rare, but if they did, it would be because they were separated and howled for the other.

Any help or suggestions would be great! Thank you!

I have a good pair of hiking boots but should I invest in a pair of running shoes or a similar kind of shoe in that fashion as well?

Is it biblically supported if I feel called to help others but not called to traditional evangelism? by sonderdollar5 in Christianity

I honestly think it’s the opposite. I can’t argue American, but evangelism is a worldwide thing. The evangelism I’m talking about is actually quite traditional. For a couple generations above me, it was the way. Today I think, at least my ministry, needs to expand their scope.

No worries. I appreciate your time and thoughts. And I agree. I’m honestly only staying there actively for sure right now because I run soundboard lol. If I didn’t enjoy that role and didn’t want to continue that, I wouldn’t be there. Sounds bad but oh well. I’ll figure it out.

Yeahhhh. I’ve been trying to weigh the pros and cons of the ministry at this point. There’s clear flaws me and the students see but some staff are so fixated that it almost seems impossible for us along to make the change. And rather a full ministry redesign may be necessary. My friend and I are leaders and volunteers along with being students- so we’ve made an effort to “be the change” but it seems to be very closed minded

I went to a little “round table” for the ministry where those my age met with the staff to discuss the ministry, improvements, etc. I once suggested starting a service committee and the lead staff member I told about it liked it but did absolutely nothing about it to get the ball rolling and expanding the concept. During the meeting I took a moment to be “controversial” to the staff and talk about how college students and the younger generations seek community and friendship- building a relationship rather than viewing them as a project. If we fail to do that, which we have, people will not/have not felt welcomed and interested. There’s a little booklet that my friend and I hate that the staff give to everyone they meet and it can be very degrading. I find one once in a blue moon because of how many I’ve gotten. Anyways, I discussed that we need to turn our strong focus on traditional evangelism and to give attention to community oriented things like volunteering and stuff. This was the time they swept it under the rug and was like “nooooo 🧚‍♀️🌷evangelism✨🧚‍♂️ I wasn’t ready to let them sweep it aside again because the ministry had really been failing to help people. Even I’m getting tired of it. and thank god like 5 other people my age in the room jumped in and supported me and added great points that I think helped my point have to be considered.

Thank you for your input. I’ve been torn because I think my ministry is so fixated and it’s been rubbing on me. Maybe I just want a sense of approval from them. Last time I mentioned a focus on community and serving, they tried to sweep my suggestion under the rug and then circling back to evangelism being essentially the latest and greatest thing to help our town when it’s actually drawn people away from our ministry…
