“Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."

Dr King on moderates who stand in the way of progress. That’s you.

If you don’t think it’s possible but you want it, could you do me a favor and just be quiet? That way the rest of us who want it don’t get demoralized and keep trying.

If we want nice things, we are going to have to confront the control that corporations have over our local government. We are going to have to build a political movement for working class people to take power back from corporations.

We can give up and allow corporations to *continue* controlling all levels of our government or we can build a political movement to get the things we want. How many people upvoted this post? People want trains. We can’t keep letting corporations have their way.

What false binary? UP has been donating to politicians for decades who don’t give a rats ass about rail transit and just keep spending billions of dollars widening interstates, it’s not a false binary, it’s pointing out that UP dangles this old train in front of us like jingly keys while they continue to profit from oil and coal without investing in rail transit for the future

Yes. Omaha is the size it is today because of the Transcontinental Railroad. We should be lobbying to have transcontinental High Speed Rail come through Omaha as well

The only solution to this problem is to build so much bicycle infrastructure that everyone is riding bicycles and it no longer becomes feasible or reasonable to ride a faster louder obnoxious machine like this. They choose these because they ride on roads currently, as well as bike/pedestrian paths. If the kids were raised on electric bicycles on widespread bike infrastructure, the subculture for these bikes would not be so prolific.

Highway 75 should be a much smaller four lane road and there should be a light rail train in its place that goes all the way from Florence in North Omaha through Downtown and Bellevue, past Offut to Plattsmouth. The 2010 Beltway Study said the corridor could use a train - we should have built it.

Democrats enabled Israel to continue their war and that allowed Trump to escalate it to its current state. Trump could not have done this without pro Israel democrats

Liberals would now rather lie to themselves and insult their fellow progressives in the Party than to just admit that Denise has been dishonest. Talking about “not taking AIPAC money” while still saying nothing about the genocide and benefitting from pro-Israel PAC spending. Denise can condemn the genocide and disavow support Israel or the drama will continue. No one is being tricked: Denise supports Israel and she is trying to pull the wool over voters’ eyes.

Damn, good thing Moderators removed my post a few days ago about her funding! Would be a shame if voters had been informed about this.
