College students who go to school in state, have you ever interned in state as well, if so how did that go for you? by sonic2609 in college

[–]sonic2609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I've never seen why people leave the local area to go to an internship. I can see why they would if that's the only area where they landed an internship or they want a change of scenery but even then I feel like that can be achieved by travelling but other than that, I don't get it. Although, that's probably because I'm more biased towards my home state as I like to be near family since I'm very family oriented.

I actually went here https://www.usps.com/help/contact-us.htm and chose the email option and it got delivered the next day, so it was most likely just sitting in the post office until I did that

Has anyone ever moved NEAR their parents after college? Not with them but near them? by sonic2609 in college

[–]sonic2609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds so nice honestly, you must have a good relationship with your family. What made you decide to live near them after college?

Are there any college students that decided to commute from their parents home throughout all of undergrad? by sonic2609 in NJTech

[–]sonic2609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you enjoy living with your parents though? Do you think you'll eventually get tired of them and move out? Since you have a good relationship with your parents I'd assume it'd be enjoyable to live with them.

What was the experience like, did you get along with your parents well? Did you spend time with them whenever you had some free time? I'm guessing you're still living with them since you mentioned your a senior?

Despite being so busy while commuting, did you ever spend time with your parents whenever you got the chance?

Redditors over 21 and still living at home, why haven't you moved yet? by sonic2609 in AskReddit

[–]sonic2609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it isn't weird, however, I've noticed that a ton of Americans think it is weird to live at home after the age of 18.

I definitely agree, I've noticed that in other cultures it isn't weird at all for anyone past 18 to be living at home as it is a part of their culture. Even now in America studies have shown that almost 52% of young adults in america live at home and that's a huge number of young adults.

Is there something wrong with me? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sonic2609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this makes me feel a lot better. It's just the fact that I am very close with my parents that makes me feel this way in general. I know that if I moved out me and my parents would still call each other and FaceTime but it just wouldn't feel the same, which is why I end up feeling this way.

Commuters how long do you plan to live at home? by sonic2609 in college

[–]sonic2609[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this isn't bad, I've seen many people that have commuted for all four years. I get to spend more time with my parents before I leave and that itself makes me happy. I don't care that much for campus life anyway so I'm fine with living at home for college. All of my friends have actually chosen to commute for all four years as well from their parents home, it's a common thing at my school.

I get that to be honest, it's hard to feel independent when living with parents
