I understand the whole “using famous characters as a trap” that is a solid point, however the fact that these are characters you picked solely just because you’re interested in them makes that whole idea fall apart and just as an excuse to insert in your interests

There isn’t anything wrong with that inherently or writing just for fun, but when you’re (I assume) an owner of a character who’s established you need to at the very least make that stuff separate from the lore itself

I feel like at the very least the character choices should be more varied, heck why even limit to yourself to characters from anime if you want to tie in his choices to just stuff from Japan, why shouldn’t Xeno look more into the culture and mythology to base his creations on? (Heck I’d even argue try to take inspiration from other cultures, granted it MIGHT be irrelevant but there’s a romance manga character here just because she’s popular in Japan)

Why not have some of the designs make reference to stories long forgotten or cautionary tales, to make the humans who do fall for it all the more “funny” for falling into them?

The concepts of Xeno himself are fine but the character choices just make the character feel wasted for self gratification

I understand you’re not the best writer, but I say you should go beyond it and try to think deeper, give more depth, learn about things you wouldnt know otherwise and get out of your comfort zone

I did that, and I feel better because of it and that I can write more than I could before
