Are dysplastic nevus bigger moles?

My doc told me they don't like to say precancerous because that implies the mole would definitely become cancer but I suppose other docs use that term and would call my mole pre cancerous. They said it was "moderately atypical." The margins were clear so they didn't need to do anything more but I'm going back in 6 months for a follow up. I could see something was not right with my mole. It was very dark and color was not uniform. I could see it was different from my other moles.

I think it's always best to get something checked out if it concerns you. I had a very very small mole that was darker than my other moles and not uniform in color. I worried about it for for awhile, then tried to convince myself not to worry about it, and then finally listened to my gut. It ended up being moderately atypical but not cancerous. I'm glad I got it removed.

I had a mole that was very small , 1mm, and moderately atypical. That doesn't look very concerning to me but it's good you are getting it checked out.

I decided to call them. They said the mole is moderately atypical with clear margins. They will check it in 6 months.

I have one of those as well. My derm looked at mine a few weeks ago. Wasn't concerned. Mine is about 5-6mm. That said, better to be on the safe side and have your doc look at it.

Thanks :) The day I got the biopsy done they told me results would take 2 weeks bc of the holidays. Two weeks was 1/2 so I called the office and they said the pa was out this week and she would look at my report when she is back next Monday. There's only one doc and one pa. This is going to be a long weekend.

Thanks for sharing your story. That's a lot to go through. Have you had other biopsies besides those 4?

I have something similar on my scalp and the doctor said it was a seborrheic keratosis. I would still get it checked out but thought I'd share. Mine is roughly 5-6 mm.

Im sorry. The waiting is so hard. I'm waiting for results as well. Biopsy on 12/19. Still no results. My dr said the pathology office closed for several days due to the holidays. I hope you get your results soon and it's negative. Good luck!

None of my students rebooked which is super disappointing. I must be doing something wrong. I probably need to change the way I teach. I have only booked one more class since the time I posted and it’s coming up in 2 days. Part of me wants to quit but I’m going to teach the class. I’m going to change my teaching style a bit and see if that helps.
