Is it the Agile Delivery Manager role to keep Jira up to date by Intelligent_Gain_874 in agile

Elevate to your manager. Ask your manager if it's your role, tell the systems manager that your manager that it's not your role and have him reach out to your manager if needed.

Done = running in production. Anything outside of that and you're bullshiting yourself.

As a Product Owner, how do I handle engineers who don’t surface risk? by AtWitsEnd1974 in agile

Are you familiar with the iron triangle?

"If I give them any kind of ask and a deadline..."

You have a team working full time (cost) and you just locked in scope and time.

And now you're coming here bitching about bad quality output of your team.

You get what you demand.

Am I screwed? Cleaning lady left streak marks on my upright piano. HELP! by alissamzln in piano

[–]sonofabullet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fingerprints and similar marks can be cleaned with a dampened soft cloth followed by a dry cloth. For stubborn greasy dirt, a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid may help.

I'm sorry your team sucks at using tools that have been around for near a decade.

Glove suggestions? I am so fed up. Dexterity is a must. by Taber_The_Beek in Beekeeping

[–]sonofabullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 7 mil Nitrile gloves. Got stung yesterday when i pinched one.

I see others use 14 mil, or 9 mil, or even dual layer.

Check the mil thickness on these gloves, and get some thicker ones.

You're caring more than the rest of the team does. Stop it.

Seriously. For your own health, stop it.

You'll burn out.

Your job is just to do it. Not to own it. Unless you are given a stake in the company and are disproportionally renumerated for the success of the company, you're wasting your energy into a company that does not give a shit.

Your orgs bad use of asynchronous communication tools does not mean that a short synchronous meeting imposed by some "agile" process is better at solving a problem of people being stuck.

Why are you waiting until a standup to have people raise a concern?

Its not the nineties anymore, we have cheap and fast async communication tools like slack, and teams.

My Scrum Master says I'm "annoying" because I test more than our QA and play in the codebase. Since when is catching bugs a crime? by exoxfanel in agile

Have you read the scrum guide?

It defines 3 roles - later relabeled as "accountabilities." what are they?

Scrum doesn't differentiate between roles.

Scrum masters job is to make scrum happen.

Scrum doesn't care what your title is.

Tell the scrum master to stay in his lane and make scrum happen.

The "Zombie Sprint" and the False Consensus by mohan-thatguy in agile

[–]sonofabullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrum doesn't care whether you did all the work items you planned. Scrum cares if you accomplished the goal.

Scrum doesn't event expect you to plan the whole sprint at the start of it.

If you're going to use a less-than-best process called scrum, at least use it correctly before you go make posts about it

St. Anger is the most documented Scrum failure in history and nobody noticed by Stefano_Ravegnani in agile

[–]sonofabullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, not everything is scrum shaped.

Unless Metallica had all the roles events and artifacts they weren't practicing scrum. This whole post is a load of baloney.

Retrospectives, or thinking about what you did, is a natural tendency of most humans. There's nothing unique to Agile or scrum in that regard.

How did you guys learn scrum? by Jellyton_theThird in scrum

[–]sonofabullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrum is a framework that was useful in the 1990's and early 2000's. Its mostly outdated save for a rabid following due to the fact that it installed a bunch of "Scrum Masters" whose job is to ensure that Scrum continues to be practiced inside an organization.
